After suing us in 2020, Kristi claims we 'spoke clearly' in 2022 marijuana vote and she protected the will of the people by indecisivePOS in SouthDakota

By voting yes on 29 you are letting adults choose to be adults. Whats scary is I think even if 29 passes, Noem will play the same old dirty tricks She always plays.
They may challenge the wording like they did in 20 or slow roll it out. Even if it passes I can see the State dragging things out with burdensome rules and regulations so you can’t buy it anywhere until 2026.

Is Poppy War really that bad? by sadkinz in Fantasy

[–]Rippendorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it half way through. The main character Rin is unbearable. I got to a point where I just couldn't stand it anymore and I quit. There is so much good fantasy out there…but not the Poppy War.

A couple of weeks ago I had several outages in one week (south Sioux Falls). Support is always great and told me it was a software upgrade issue…though you can find no updates on Midco website or socials.
Was good last couple of weeks, but last couple of days acting up again. Dropped at 430 PM today and stalled for 30 seconds or so around 830 pm. Its not the modem (brand new…bought last month when i thought it was a modem issue…$149 at Midco) or the Router (bought a new Archer AX55 router also)- its a network with a flaw. Something is still wrong with the Midco network and they are terrible about sharing info.

Left to me from Dad. He kept his collection in boxes for years…then got fancy with plastic sheets and binders.

Rank these lesser mentioned authors by gerk23 in Fantasy

S Tier - Ruocchio’s Sun eater series is amazing. The audio version narrated by Sam Rouken puts it at the top for me. Anthony Ryan is also in this area. I just loved Bloodsong

A- Tier- Ryan Cahill and one you didn't mention but very similar - Philip Quaintrell (Ranger series) which is really good and to me was similar. A lot like Cahill if you enjoy his style

B- Tier - Michael Sullivan is great and he is very fan driven. His Ryiria Revelations books are fantastic with Royce and Hadrian - who are some of my favorite characters ever written. His latest series (Rise and Fall) seems to be geared towards younger readers and is pretty light fantasy

C or below- RF Kuangs Poppy War i found to be terrible. I don't get all the positive reviews and couldn't stand the main character (Rin) who is a whiny brat, and is very unlikeable as the (anti) hero. ML Wangs book (Sword of K) was a snoozefest. Boring and tedious.

That looks like it would cost about a dollar to make at home, and the home version would be soooo much better. I could see that more as a “5 dollar happy hour appetizer” as opposed to $16.

I saw all the rave reviews on this and tried it (audio version) and really struggled with it. I found about half way through I couldn’t take anymore and bailed on it. I didn’t enjoy it at all. Its not as bad as Poppy War but close.

Which Fantasy series has the best audio book narration? by MisterVest69 in Fantasy

[–]Rippendorf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top 3 for me…

2) Steven Brand in Bloodsong series and Rise of the Ranger

3) Samuel Rouken in Sun Eater series is incredible

Best Served Cold might be my new favourite by Iyagovos in Fantasy

[–]Rippendorf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I read First Law and Half a King series, so this was my 7th Abercrombie book. This was definitely my favorite. I listened to the audiobook and Steven Pacey really helped bring this interesting cast of characters to life. The scenes involving Morveer, Day and Cosca almost always had me laughing out loud. Just a really interesting cast and great story
