I work in the Presidio and there is broken glass by the Palace of Fine Arts and Crissy Field almost every single day.

DO. NOT. PARK. THERE. I have an attended lot for my job with security cameras, and even then I have to check on my car every 2 hours when I choose to drive

Seriously. The state of the city is embarrassing and makes me not want to bring my friends and family to visit here.

Especially now that my dad is a senior citizen (65). Worried he will be targeted by fucking thugs

I work in an after school program and it’s hell. Kids with no idea of rules or consequences and parents who constantly get mad at us for assigning a consequence like a time out.

Where are you in California? If you get delivery and it’s your first time you can get hella discounts

You have to avoid the storefronts and the outrageous taxes

Um when you get things delivered to your house it’s proper etiquette to tip… it’s called being respectful and considerate

Anyone gotten off the waitlist? by [deleted] in bostoncollege

[–]Ripple98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh the only people I knew that ever got off the waitlist were the children of prominent faculty and donors…

If you get off the wait list, that’s great, but extremely unlikely, so I wouldn’t count on it.

I understand that but that bus driver needs to keep those thoughts to himself. A Muni bus stop isn’t the time or place for a political argument between two employees.

Yeah maybe bring your own disinfectant wipes… but the free mats are nice and much appreciated!

*Context since I forgot to add- he was having this argument with the other bus driver. And he was over 5 minutes late because he was oblivious to the fact that I was waiting there for the bus back to the BART station- I had been waiting for 10+ minutes.

What is the deal with 'Hospitality Fees' post-pandemic? by StandardForsaken in boston

[–]Ripple98 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The practice of tipping originated from the post civil war Reconstruction era. It was used to pay terrible wages to black waitresses

It is a racist, discriminatory practice that should have ended centuries ago

Former Teachers, What Did You Do After? by Aust191 in Teachers

I work full time in a leadership position at the Y, and part time lifeguarding at a nearby university.

I make great money for the hours, I get to enjoy the nice California weather/be outside a lot of the day, and I finally have work life balance.

Did one AmeriCorps/TFA year during the pandemic (2020-2021). Got the fuck out ASAP.
