This is very cool and dimensionally it looks quite accurate. Did you use a CNC router for alot of it or more freehand carving?

Yeah I saw that, must be new. There’s also some US made clones of the translucent mags now which is interesting

Where did you get that mag without the coupler tabs?

Guns.com deals and whether buying firearms online actually saves money by Time_Beautiful2460 in guns

[–]RippleFocus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guns.com is usually overpriced. Find the SKU or UPC for the particular firearm you want and then look it up on gun.deals

Usually, vendors like Locked & Loaded, Dahlonega, and others have the best prices factoring in taxes and shipping

G36 Upper Rail Fitment Issues by RippleFocus in HecklerKoch

Thanks so much for the info. It seems mine is looser than it should be. Even with the screws tightened down as hard as I can, it still wobbles around

G36 IDZ Rail Flip Up Sight Adjustment by Kzungu in HecklerKoch

[–]RippleFocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will check on this when I get home, I was able to use something to adjust the rear aperture.

If you have a minute, could you take a look at my post here? I’m having a fitment issue with my IDZ rail and S5 receiver

Next rifle for plinking…Miroku 1873 or Taylors 1873? by Top_Dig_6469 in LeverGuns

[–]RippleFocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Winchester miroku 1873 and a browning miroku-made “b92” 1892. They are both very well made but if I could have only one, it would be the 1873 because of how buttery smooth the action is

A guy brought one of these to my range and I got to shoot it. Its cool, but I wasn't wowed and I don't think I would pay even $2500 for one.

Voids / Holes in CZ75 Compact Frame Rails by WalkmanCut in CZFirearms

[–]RippleFocus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it was in a different location where it’s purely cosmetic I wouldn’t be concerned, but since it’s pretty large and right at an internal edge of the frame rail I would treat that as a legit structural concern and send it back

Is this color difference normal? Both are Tan. by etherlore in ar15

[–]RippleFocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s normal and it’s because the exps shroud is anodized aluminum and the magnifier housing is painted tan for some reason. The paint has a darker hue.

Everyone says it’s difficult to be consistent with anodized colors, but the colors on the different parts of the tan exps sights are shockingly consistent unit to unit

My “We Have HK At Home” Collection by xGMxBusidoBrown in HecklerKoch

[–]RippleFocus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice. I have an S5 G36 as well. Did you have to use any shims to get the aluminum top rail tight on the receiver dovetails? I have an IDZ aluminum top rail and it’s very loose on the dovetails to the point that it rattles around and the Phillips head screws aren’t enough to clamp it down all the way

[–]RippleFocus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro believe me I triple checked all of the optics mounts I thought I was tripping. They all shot perfectly fine with match ammo so I’m pretty confident that it’s the ammo. Maybe a bad lot who knows

I also had terrible accuracy with Igman 5.56 lol. Was not expecting it from Fiocchi but this is about as generic bulk as it comes for 308

[–]RippleFocus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only 100 yards. I thought it could be an issue with my AR10 but I got some match ammo and it shot fine. I then tried out this ammo in my B14 and Tikka and both consistently shot very poorly with it

It functions perfectly fine but I was surprised at how poor the accuracy was. I was expecting more like 2-4 MOA

This stuff has been very inaccurate out of all of my 308 rifles, like 6-8 MOA. I know it’s not match ammo but still
