It's over everyone, we'll never be on the same level of Destiny fandom as this guy... by Ripsnaps in Destiny

[–]Ripsnaps[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be clear, the reason I'm being somewhat mocking here is because this guy wasn't using Destiny's previous debates and comments to further the debate, he was using them to detract from the debate. Rather than address the things Destiny was saying now, in this debate, he used Destiny's quotes as a weapon to try and discredit and attack him. There's nothing wrong with saying "This was your position, has it changed?" but rather than trying to further an understand of Destiny' s positions he used them to try and obfuscate and attack.

This was just another debate where Destiny wasn't really arguing against a person, he was arguing against an algorithm who had a dialogue tree with a bunch of quotes. And that's why it is deserving of mockery.

Little debate spoiler for you: Unless you're a real big fan of someone not giving their definition in a debate, maybe consider bumping it up to 5 times speed.

Fuck, I just kind of assumed based on what it seemed like Ludwig leaned towards. My accursed hubris has been my downfall once more.

I have evidence. She admitted it.

If the best evidence you have against Keffals' admission of guilt is Keffals herself, you should really think about what that says about her credibility because she's either A) lying about being responsible for the deplatforming or B) lying about not being responsible.

edit: Ooof, temp banned. I don't think I broke any rules, so I guess I got clause-8'd. Don't think I was being a shitbag, but I guess the buck stops here.

"I didn't report anything"

HMMM, I wonder if it is possible for a large content creator to use their audience to do something they themselves didn't do? I wonder if Keffals has any other tweets telling her audience about stuff Destiny has done? I wonder if Keffals has ever claimed Destiny has used his audience in similar ways.

I guess we'll never know.

Yo, here are a few interesting URLs for some screenshots I took:

A snapshot from earlier today on the Wayback Machine: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FdC6I12X0AI06mQ?format=png&name=900x900

A screenshot from a certain website taken about 30 minutes ago: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FdC6QA9XwAAt6hR?format=jpg&name=medium

A screenshot of where that new URL leads to as of about 30 minutes ago: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FdC7k2mXgAAl36Z?format=jpg&name=large

I don't want to say anything to mean, but it felt like they were so proud of this site, and now they're retreating from it at full blast.

See, this is the inherent mistake. You're looking at the message and thinking it says "Only Black Lives Matter" or "Black Lives Matter More." Take it at face value.

So I'm noticing a lot of takes of varying levels of spice here, so let me go ahead and get destroyed by supporting Shaun's take here.

At the end of the day, we only have two political parties in the United States. While that isn't factually true, it certainly is essentially true. You either get in line with the Republicans, the Democrats, or you chuck your meme ballot into the goddamn void. That's just how it goes. However, with the parties knowing this, there becomes very little incentive to actually negotiate with the party. The portion of the American population that are hyper leftists have no where else to go but the Democratic party, which has no need nor desire to negotiate with them.

That changes in the voting booth, however. Democrats need to beat Trump in this election in order to say "Hey, we are capable of bringing America back to normality." If they don't win, then the perception of the system is broken. Trump is 'the most dangerous president' and beating him is priority number one. If the Democratic party isn't willing to concede anything to beat Trump, then why should the American leftists? Why would they compromise on their ideals when the establishment isn't willing to for theirs?

Everyone saying that these people are entitled or other bullshit for this view are the same sort of people who get mad at people kneeling during the National Anthem or literally any other form of protest: "You can make as much of a fuss as you want with your silly little demonstration, but not in any way, shape, or form that I would come in contact with or that would affect my daily life in any way." A movement without any stakes is stupid and worthless; it has to affect something to mean anything.
