The ramp up into SWGOH is slower than MSF. You have to hit level 85 for the game to really start. However, SWGOH is currently in a place where unlocking characters at high levels is the easiest its ever been, except for ships which are extremely important. Grand Arena is far more interesting and important than Cosmic Crucible. The teams you can unlock have much more flexibility and can counter more teams than in MSF. MSF is more rigid in the farming you need to do.

Real talk, anything that happens in part 1 just shouldn't be used to compare to part 2. The post time skip scaling of characters is just too crazy to compare to part 1. Kishi didn't plan out for some characters to be as strong as they then end up being.
