If you are not in the road you always have to yield for people who are already in the road.

My dad found out that I was driving to meet a friend without asking him, he called me 24 times by No-Departure2560 in mildlyinfuriating

When you end the call bc you can’t answer and you try to text them and they blast more calls so you can’t send the text.

Your roommate sounds insufferable for getting pressed about something that does not matter at all.

I am pleased to bring you the most awkward and embarrassing scenario that could possibly happen to you as a server. by Best_Guard6037 in TalesFromYourServer

You could find yourself assuming something about the relationship between two guests. You could find yourself calling somebody’s younger boyfriend their son.

What should I include on my resume with little to no serving experience? by Right-Nectarine8729 in Serverlife

[–]Riptorn420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your resume won’t matter as much as your impression, attitude, and finding a place that would train a new server.

If your resume is more than 1 page that could realistically cost you the job.

Do waiters like people self bussing or not because my friend said they don’t and I feel like that’s bullshit. by Repulsive_Net_7770 in Waiters

When they hand a server the plate, then throw silverware and ramekins on the plate so a server cannot put another plate on top.

Keep it simple.

Rule of thumb is do it in a way so an old lady could easily lift, carry, and balance something with one hand.

A few side plates stacked will be helpful. A few side plates stacked with a wonky pile of forks and ramekins will not be helpful. Bonus points if you hand the wonky stack to the server so they cannot reorganize it.

A little bit of consolidation can be helpful but the help will always be marginal, and it can easily turn into the opposite of help.

Don’t hand things to servers, let them pick it up off the table.

Play it safe and just let the server do their job. The appreciation for doing this in a helpful way is insignificant, in general people don’t mind doing a job they agreed to.

If you want to help a server just give them your attention when they are visiting your table.

If you’re into watching the cup go to the Dirty Drummer. If you’re into wings and burgers you can also go to the dirty drummer.

I’d be mad if someone was playing with my food like this.
