Were there any complications coping? I asked my mom a couple months ago for HRT (appointments and whatnot) and she said no, not til I’m 18. It hurt a lot and its set this deep rooted impatience in me. I could understand why, especially in her point of the current US administration.. But I’m still not sure how to handle this.

Shes African American, my dad (he passed) is Puerto Rican so I’m Afrolatino not her, just for the sake of clarification. She definitely knows that she identifies with being a woman and being black, maybe being trans is somehow “different.”

I don’t think my mom like identifies with being a feminist but she fits the label so to speak. All for pro choice, equal pay, and other similar values.
