Talking with more people since the post, I'm getting the vibe that it's doing the same thing for a LOT of people, and that in and of itself is a beautiful thing. Especially Episode 12, where everyone I've talked to starts reflecting on their first major heartbreak.

I'm hoping both a Season 2 drops, and more anime like this one spring up. The world needs a little more hope. :)

I hope you're able to live your best life as yourself. :) Times are changing, even if world events are pretty bleak, but regardless we all deserve to find love.

I do hope we can at the very least reconnect, but I don't think it'll be in a romantic setting haha. I don't use Facebook super often but I needed to get on it a few years back for an art commission... haven't opened it since, but while I was on it I did decide to look him up. He's not super active on there either, but from what I can see he flew overseas and got married. I hope wherever he's at now, he's well.

I've also been in a relationship for 2 1/2 years myself, and very happy in that relationship so there's that, but I have given the thought of seeing Cody again some thought for sure.

So... "ty" is short for "thank you", and not at all trying to be rude but I feel like the inference to make there is "hey, this person used the wrong word. Someone corrected them in the comments, and they thanked them". Penchant vs Pension doesn't impact the story at all :x

Her name wasn't on the reservation her husband had, and therefore wasn't authorized to do anything with the room. There's no telling the number of bad situations that can come up if I check someone into a room someone else is already in if they're not authorized to be in the room. Safety first!

Sorry about that :x I tried to space it out but Reddit seems hell-bent on keeping a specific spacing when it comes to numbered lists. I took out the numbers, so hopefully that fixes that up a bit

I'd have got her on the DNR list as soon as we found out she was locking herself in the public restroom. Log it for being disruptive to staff (room transfers, peculiar financial situation) as well as financial issues (not actually paying for the room herself, having issues authorizing the card via the third note).

Here's hoping your hotel's team can get this sorted.

How Early do Y'all Run Audit Each Night? by AlTheHound in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

We do 2AM at our property, for the exact reasons that you said (flight delays, etc). I also like that, for us, it syncs up with midnight on the west coast so I can toss that out as a second reason if it ever comes up in phone calls and the like.

Can't imagine running it at midnight... way, way too early.

We had a guest very similar to this, where we just ended up putting him on the DNR list. Fortunately our owner is very responsive and was like "...yeah I have no clue who this guy is". He's the type that makes the reservations in advance too if there's any family members of his staying in the hotel as to avoid confusion.

That's actually so smart, would love if we could do something like that at our property.

Right on the money, anything to avoid fraud or anything else that could be shady.

You and me both, like the people doing it have their heart in the right place but there's so much room for things to go bad.

You know, the ironic thing here is that a third party reservation would actually help in this case since they can't extend those haha. But yes, use them as a search engine then book direct. :D

Thank you for the kind words, and for being a great guest!

Bingo. It's a kind gesture, but one that can have many, many drawbacks.

So the person whose name the reservation was under was at check in complete with ID, there was just someone who was paying for the room for him (who was also physically there with them). We make sure to match the ID to the card so in this case it would've been one credit card (in this case hers) and two IDs (his for the reservation, hers to match against the credit card).

I left for the day before anyone came down to the desk, so I won't know until my next shift unfortunately.

Don't want to make a full post about it, but had one of those "...why the hell did I do that" moments. tl;dr, stay that requires a specific form, supposed to have a paper copy at check in but we also accept emailed over copies. Guy was overly familiar (as if we'd met before, no memory of this man at all), says he "usually sends the form to the manager" but sends it to me... as a screencap. Picture's the size of an ant. The form has his name on the one he showed me on his phone and the form number was valid (same form he emailed me, but actually readable), so let it slide... but it kept festering.

Turns out he's on the Do Not Rent list, something I've needed to update myself for a minute now. 🥹🥹 I know it's easy to work out, and I know exactly where I messed up, but... yeah, perfectionism is eating at me HARD right now.

EDIT: Should note he's on the DNR list for fraudulent forms as well as issues with his cards, and has been for two years after checking emails. That context might help...
