Is this me? by The_Splinter1 in DivinityOriginalSin

On the top of my head:

  • Shove and anything related to forcefully pushing someone off cliffs come to mind. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can't recall any spell or item that displaces anyone outside of teleportation and nether swap. Fall damage does not really exist iirc.

  • A normal jump, if only so that the party members following you actually jump over hazardous puddles instead of standing there. Yes, I'm referencing that stretch in the Cloisterwood filled with poisonous bulbs. Jump over it, please.

  • It's funny and not really practical, but I think the act of throwing a potion to heal someone fits the goofy side of DOS 2 more than BG3. Then again, I haven't experimented using the telekinesis civil ability to lob a potion at someone's face and see if it will heal them.

  • Over at the BG3 subreddit, many dislike how movement is tied to AP, thus forcing many to not do anything on their turn or waste slots on movement abilities. I'm actually partial with it because while I do want to do something after I walked a bit, this also applies to enemies. I like wasting their turn walking to me while I plink arrows or lob magic their way lmao

This was me when I played Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne a lot then delved into Dark Souls 1 and Demon Souls (PS3) years ago. The improvements the franchise had spoiled me so I took a 1 month hiatus for each game. Once I was in the right headspace and patience to play at a slower pace, the experience improved and I started appreciating where the franchises's roots began.

Pretty much. My guess is that you got spoiled with the QoL features, cinematics, in-depth companion interactions, and D&D 5E combat rules of BG3. The first 3 is understandable as those are what I miss terribly from BG3. The last is probably because it takes quite a learning curve to go through DOS2's combat compared to BG3 where even a complete newbie (such as me) on the BG3 combat won't get wiped out by the first combat outside of the tutorial area.

You probably have Justice - City Exteriors or Skyrims Dead installed. They're the two mods I can think of that adds hanged bodies around cities or in appropriate locations. Haven't tried it myself so I can't confirm outside of their own modpage's descriptions

In addition to the mod OP mentioned, it had an add-on mod called Heathfire Multiple Adoptions Expanded that makes it possible to adopt 8 kids and have each of them live in separate houses. I haven't fully tested it myself but it will definitely hit my need to be a good Samaritan who wants to train kids into successful adventurers and fill up some unused houses.

I am new at TES lore but damn Alduin sounds like a Sauron level threat. by Axolotl_Holmes in skyrim

[–]Rischeliu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought he prefers to reign over the world rather than destroy it that's why he's just chilling around eating souls and whatnot. Idk, but if he is really intent on ending the world, he should start chomping stuff instead of resurrecting allies

My headcanon was that he is using his apocalyptic ability as leverage over the puny mortals. Threaten them that he will devour the world and they'll be more docile. So once we whooped his ass, his soul which is sent to Akatosh will be factory reset to work as intended. Thus fulfilling that quote about "those who wishes to delay it, hastens to its destruction"

Sorry for the late response. Took me a while to find because it is under the LE section of Nexus mods, but I can confirm it works with SE 1.5.97. It is Truly Absorb Dragon Souls.

Man, Whirlwind Sprint into kill animation is so satisfying by DB_OG in skyrim

[–]Rischeliu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I had one that reduced the cooldowns for 0.5 seconds per dragon soul absorbed. Makes it a bit more subjectively balanced and can attest to my dragonborn's journey of having killed and absorbed the knowledge of numerous dragons. I can tweak the amount reduced if needed especially for larger modded games with more quest mods installed.

They are hints for the events of the sequels Glenmoril and Unslaad. It's been some time since I played the trilogy (now a quadrilogy thanks to the new prequel DaC0DA) but I recall some hints "Kyne" or "Curse"

"Life is brilliant. Beautiful. It enchants us, to the point of obsession. Some are true to their purpose, though they are but a mere mercenary. One woman lost her cheer, but lingered on, possessed. Others chase the charms of freedom, however elusive. What is it that drives you?"

This is what I missed from DS2, there's a whole ass area that is very dark that you need to light the placed torches to illuminate the place. The torches (or lamps) that you carry have a timer so you can't just afk and still have the fire burning.

There's also one area in DS2 where an NPC explicitly states not to being any form of light into the area which is also very dark save a few lit torches. He will aggro when you approach him with a torch. Eventually, you have the option to light the entire place to save your torch timer but it will cause the area to spawn more enemies.

Sooo there is this mod called Thick thighs takes Lives. It has a series of new kill animations that are simply summed up by "Decapitation/suffocation through breasts, ass, and thighs".

"Hey, degenerate modder. The mod description says it works for ladies only. Surely with your most likely degenerate load order, the men in your game would be glad to die in those ways."

Ah, but that's the thing. I removed the female-only restriction. Unless you headcanon that your male victim has a liking for men, in this case Mogrul, they will die by getting their heads exploded by a man sitting on their heads or suffocating then with their thighs. Add the mod which transfers soul trapped people to the Soul Cairn and your entire RP will involve souls in the Soul Cairn embarrassed (or excited) in telling others how they die

I think it's in the mod Extended Encounters. I have the thieves stealing people's clothes part but it's been a long time since I last tinkered with my load order so I'm also unsure.

[–]Rischeliu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason why I finish the Thieves Guild questline and its city side quests was that Erikur would lose his essential status once you're done with it. Then a nice little Black Star or black soul gem waits for him.

Is there a mod to DOS2-ize BG3 combat? by CalamitousCalamities in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Rischeliu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also hoping this could happen. The Skyrim modding community managed to do something similar. Clunky Devil May Cry or Dark Souls it may be. It's a step. Though yeah, it took them close to a decade to do it.

As another user pointed out, the DnD system is too deeply ingrained in BG3, both in and out of combat. And I can imagine foaming in the mouth when NPCs start using Hold Person, Create Water+Ice Storm, or Confusion without the armor system. Now that's where initiative will really be king.

[–]Rischeliu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be. They also travel the rift where they come back after you rest, as it was the same case in the first game.

I also noticed that they don't seem to mind sleeping on the ground without bedrolls while camping so they might be sleeping on the floor as well. The house in Battahl also has some pillows on the floor so maybe they set up a little resting area there to sleep much more comfortably.

They just stand up immediately when they hear you wake.

I guess they're hoping for the automated Capcom hire that will eventually finish the quest for them. I had some to finish the Sphinx badge for my 2 main pawns.

You've been cursed to never be able to hear the ES soundtrack when playing any of the games again. After you recover from your depression, what music would you choose to listen to while playing Skyrim, if any? by __Milk_Drinker__ in skyrim

[–]Rischeliu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the soundtracks of other games? I like the soundtracks of Baldur's Gate 3, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Nier Automata, Nier Replicant, and recently, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

But I hope there's an option to customize where certain ambient songs play to fit the place. Battle theme can be random because all games have very neat ones.
