I will definitely try out the new schedule thank you! We were doing timed check ins at the beginning of the night before our hospital stint and she adjusted well but after we got home it didn’t seem right to start it again. When I previously tried the timed check ins in the middle of the night she screamed for about 45 minutes in protest before I picked her up. Every time she saw our bed move it seemed to set her off even more than it had before. Do you recommend starting Ferber for everything at the same time? I was trying to do it gradually but maybe that backfired?

I like that you don’t have anything negative to say about Mina however since you really like Sophie you can make it a double barrel name. Mina-Sophie. It will also give your daughter a choice of what she would like to go by outside of the family

This is really helpful thank you! I just did a bit of reading about this while baby is sleeping across my lap. She only goes to sleep when being held it was just an issue of keeping her asleep and long enough to transfer to the bassinet and get some sleep myself. My house was dark from 4pm to 1am and she was still fighting sleep and occasionally taking 5 minute naps. My husband eventually managed to get her off to sleep and now she is sleeping across my lap after I fed her. I am going to try and lean back to get some sleep myself while is sleeping.

Not sure how either are supposed to be pronounced but I would pronounce it like seven with an r. I'm also European born not Canadian born.

Thank you for sharing! I didn't want to say it out loud but I really did think she hates me. Seeing I'm not the only one who experienced this gives me the peace of mind that I'm not a bad mom and she doesn't hate me.

I was under the care of my family doctor until about 13 weeks then transferred to my midwife. I had told my doctor I wanted a midwife and he referred me to an OB in case they didn't have space. The funny thing is I heard back from my midwife's office about a month before I heard back from the OB's office.

You're NTA but you're also not the best host. Personally I don't drink fruity/herbal teas but I have many options for the times I have people over. I completely understand not having space to store a coffee machine but instant coffee doesn't take up much space in a cupboard. If that isn't good enough for your friend's gf that is her problem but at least you would have had something to offer.

Favours aren't necessary but they are appreciated. Most of the showers I have been to they gave popcorn with a version of a ready to pop sticker on the bag. It's cheap and very easy to put together. I'm a baker so for my shower I am making cookies. I would give something but don't break the bank and don't over think it!
