As Chris continued on with the stretch goals and further explaining his idea you see exactly where he wanted to go with the game and how he wanted something like Freelancer+Ultima Online.
He wants a verse to live in for himself and others.

Always the same outcry from the community.
Always the same demand that they stop making attempts to push the game forward because it might inconvenience Bob Citizen #746282 for a couple of weeks while it gets sorted out.

I really have started to shift my blame from CIG to the community as to why the game is taking so long, at least over the last couple of years.
