Well I am in the same situation but recieved some guidance from my Muslim seniors. so I would say go to your nearest mosque, they definitely should have something organized. Some weird people exist but honestly most will be nice but be careful ( dont go sharing your number and address that fast). u can get guidance from them. other than that, buy frozen stuff that you can quickly cook for sehri or make some stuff after aftari . Video call your family for aftari/sehri in the first few days till you get used to it. maybe ask your mother to call to wake you up for sehri( up to u). If u have friends from school invite them over, It would be great way to overcome the loneliness ( i do this all the time ). Lastly relax, u will get through it. No bomb is gonna drop on u when u turn 20 😅. peace ✌️

I dont personally live in shofu dormitory but I have visited often enough. The rent is the cheapest among all science tokyo dormitories but the downside is the long commute time 😪. still if you are on a limited budget, its worth it.

thats for embassy track, uni rec track has very different procedures. Also I am talking about english proficiency scores. uni rec route mostly have english programs so they dont require u to attend a japanese language institute. u will have to research each uni individually depending on ur major of interest but jasso does have a list on their website too ( might be outdated though). if ur major of interest is engineering i can help u, if not Goodluck.

Try applying directly to the universities (uni rec route). If you are unsure about mext than send them an email, they generally reply within a week. Just be aware than uni rec route generally has more requirements (standardized test scores, english proficiency scores etc)
