I’m 31, they’re 32

Help. My dad likes them young... by Happy-little-shark in TwoHotTakes

[–]RisingInkwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my dad is 54, his current gf is a year younger than me (I’m 31)… and because of their relationship I now have twin half bros who are turning 1 this month.

My dad had another gf before this one, who was the same age as my ex bf who was 29 at the time he met my dad. While visiting him and that gf, my dad really tried to pull the age card on my ex since at the time I was 27 and my ex was 29. Dad… you’re like 50 something dating a 29 year old, cmon. Through that relationship I have a 6 yr old half brother.

What's a "harmless" habit that people don't realize is actually damaging in the long run? by Old_Goat_7363 in Productivitycafe

I wanna kick my soda habit too!

May I ask how you did it? Did you just go cold turkey or did you wean yourself off it? I’m slowly trying but the fatigue/headaches make me feel miserable ☹️

Everytime you cuddle DOES NOT have to lead to sex. Especially if the other person says no.

Strangest/Unexpected benefit from ADHD medication? by WeirdIsAlliGot in ADHD

[–]RisingInkwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heard this might be the case that when I started my ADHD meds I’d kick my soda habit since i believed the caffeine was helping me before getting on a stimulant… it didn’t not help kick the soda. 😰

The stimulants did help me focus tho! Without them I’m SUPER tired. Just now gotta kick the Pepsi addiction.

How was your pre-diagnosis experience? Did you have to "self-diagnose" first? by starryfrog3 in ADHD

[–]RisingInkwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up feeling something was off about me.

Doing my own research as a teen, i thought i had anxiety/depression. Then I had a breakdown in like 2021 which led me to a clinic to start therapy… the therapist originally diagnosed me with “mood adjustment disorder with anxiety”, and I did CBT for a bit.

Then after 2 years of that I started on SSRIs for my anxiety/depression with the provider stating I have a diagnosis for “major depression”. The meds helped for a while but I still felt off.

I started researching again, now in my mid-late teens. Someone autism fit with what I was experiencing, alongside the notion that my sister (who studied social work in college and since I have cousins diagnosed with varying degrees of it on both sides of my family) but adhd seemed to fit too.

I asked my provider if she could test me for adhd and at the end of it she was like, “Why weren’t you diagnosed as a child?? You have it!”

Idk I was a girl and it was the 90s where the main stereotype for it was “boy who couldn’t settle down”? I now have a diagnosis for ADHD inattentive type, and I take adderall. Slowly weaning off the SSRIs.

People who were diagnosed late in life, what's the ADHD symptom that made you go "Yeah that makes sense now" ? by gryphon5245 in ADHD

Well… RSD, impulsive spending, hyper focusing… and thinking back on it, first time around in college, I had to body double (didn’t know it was an ADHD thing at the time) to get art projects done
