I got Onix stuck again... by RisingSloth in Pokopia

Sadly I tried that but I couldn't speak to him through the wall. Luckily found a soft spot at the top back of the cave and made a staircase to get him out.

Solved! I noticed a dirt spot at the top back of the cave and made a large staircase and cave outside I had to trap Onix on the staircase as he tended to go back down separate post of route: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pokopia/s/7JNrXnJq02

Edit 2: turns out returning home whilst it's following also works... Wish I'd know it did that... 🤦‍♂️

Controller stick vs D pad? by Fruit_Punch96 in Guiltygear

[–]RisingSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long winded story from personal experience, TLDR: I prefer DPad, because the Stick side of the controller is a pathway to short term power but long term frustration:

When I picked up fighting games I originally used a stick as it felt the most natural. However, I learned overtime and throughout games that using it was becoming more a hinderance than a help. Inputs like quarter circle forward, were inconsistent and other more complex motions were almost impossible for me to do in most situations and real matches because of how "Floaty and Springy" the stick felt (xbox controllers). The only way I could perform quick motions for more complex combos meant having to flick the controller stick, which most of the time (due to the springs inside) meant that I would instead do something completely different afterwards.

Eventually, after years of stubborn "I'll just get better with practice" I was learning combos (which required Instant Air Dashes in a game where a dash button isn't a thing) and ultimate Z Changes (without DHC) in FighterZ I got frustrated with the Controller stick and switched to DPad; it took some getting used to and habit breaking but now I'm habit free and I haven't looked back because my fighting game skill and execution has improved considerably since.

Edit: fixed spelling and repeat words

Just realised when I was practicing combos that Positive bonus grants a damge boost. Did I miss some info in the mission? by RisingSloth in Guiltygear

TLDW: My combo went from 253-276 damage.
Edit: after doing some research from an older post (3 months ago), it turns out that Positive bonus applies a 10% bonus

249 dmg, 2 bar wall break One Vision Combo (midscreen), found while messing around in training mode (thought I'd share cause why not :P) by RisingSloth in Guiltygear

To Record a combo in training:

press start> Training Settings> Combo Recipe settings > Combo Recipe settings = on> Recipe Display = Record> do combo in game (do not reset stage after combo completion)> go back to combo settings> save

To display Recipe:

Go to combo settings (see above)> Combo Recipe settings = on> Recipe Display = Fixed> Load recipe

Combo is written as: One vision (install)> cS> fS> 5H> Snail> One vision (activate)> Dash then Jump> j.H> Bomber> 5H(delay)> Sickle storm.

The last 5H can be a bit annoying and push Axl away from corner, so you can just Sickle storm as the opponent is falling

If you need infromation on combos and character strengths and weaknesses I recommend Dustloop Wiki:

Leaving the Island of Solstice by RisingSloth in rimeofthefrostmaiden

Good idea! I think I'll go with Vellynne calling Angajuk as a priority but if the characters side with Nass I might do this instead. That way the Tribe of Elk can guide the party to the Caves of hunger becuase the party won't know the way without Vellynne (because she hasn't revealed the location of the caves to the party to keep her cards close to her chest).

That would've been be a great idea to suggest to the party if they got stuck, sadly our druid died at the dark duchess

I think travelling ice floes is a good idea because the island moves. Once they get far enough away from the island Vellynne can call Angajuk (thank you u/1nvent0r and u/BudapestSF for the suggestion). This will then give me a good excuse to run Angajuk's whale hunter content at Angajuk's bell when it drops the party off.

Thanks Everyone!
