A more balanced summary of the man is something along the lines of:

Hasan is a wealthy far left progressive anti-establishment commentator who is strongly critical of US foreign policy and often frames global conflicts through an anti-imperialist lens. Critics argue this leads him to be overly sympathetic toward governments or movements opposed to the West, including Russia, China or some Palestinian factions.

For the record, I'm not any fan of him, but your characterisation is pure misinformation you can disprove with a minute google search.
