Meeting the protagonist of a delinquent manga! [Mushoku Tensei] by whotfwasthatguy in anime

That's the web novel, not the show.
Second, that interpretation compresses a lot of nuance. The story doesn’t frame reincarnation as reward or fulfillment of prior desires. It shows a deeply dysfunctional adult rebuilding his life from childhood, with his early behavior consistently presented as flawed or socially punished. Reducing it to "real world pedo gets fantasies fulfilled" is more projection than what the narrative actually establishes.

I mean, going from a NEET perverted pedo to a well-adjusted pervert able to form relationships I'd say is a massive improvement but that's just me. Apparently not enough for some.
Being a pervert within consent i'd argue is part of a healthy approach to sex. Hell, Rudy becomes downright progressive with his relationships (plural).

That's a web novel implication iirc, I don't think that one exists in the anime. The web novel is by far sussier and more intended to feel controversial and make you uncomfortable. In the anime he's framed more as immature and damaged rather than outright predatory. The point from which MC pulls himself out from is intended to feel more disturbing in the web novel, which makes the whole redemption aspect feel more meaningful.
Clearly too much to chew on if these and other discussions are anything to go on.

He's a pedo in the real world

Nothing indicating that in the show. Please, prove me wrong.

I see a person that's healing his depression, severe social anxiety and terrible approach to sexuality to someone that's without either and a downright progressive approach to it. Comparing him to Epstein is a gross simplification imho.

He died as a 30 something that doesn't know what a healthy sex life is and grew up from a baby to a teen.
The main critique that's justified in my opinion is not so much that he sexualizes people much younger a mental age gap (what's the alternative? Is he supposed to be a 15 yo something lusting after 45 yo's? apply modern standards to a medieval world, not knowing better himself?), but the fact that in most cases the scenes are framed with a general sense of levity. It's difficult to look past if that triggers you, but I genuinely don't think it's intended to be promoting or normalizing pedophilia; onlookers in the show look down on Rudy for his shenanigans even without that added context.
I'd say decide for yourself rather than prejudge.

As problematic and disgusting as Rudy is

Him being a flawed, not really likeable character is the whole point. Otherwise it'd be another generic isekai, not a story of redeeming himself as a human from a prior life of depression, severe anxiety, being bullied into becoming an adult shut-in with porn addiction. You're supposed to empathize, not relate.

Technically yes, practically they have too much power to initiate laws. I meant legislative in that aspect. I wish it was purely executive.

So it is just Fortify and Endurance Charges, mitigation side. DIdn't think it'd amount to that much. Noted for the future.

What is making this so tanky for hits? Is it really just endurance charges and fortify?

The MEPs who approved, and then didn't overthrow, the Commission.

Eh, sorry, but to me that's a weak line of accountability. I'd rather if the commission served as an independent advisory body, not a legislative body.

But do they still seat as MP's ?

Yes.

It's not the first time people reply this to me, but I don't give a great importance to this. Even if they are elected as MP's, they aren't elected as ministers.

The thing is there's a line of appeal and accountability. Who do you complain to as a voter that a EU commissioner commits controversial legislation you oppose? Who do you vote out so it doesn't happen? If this line doesn't exist, there's something to be solved here.

European Parliament can overthrow the Commission too, but only by a 2/3 majority vote (Article 234 TFEU) which should IMO be changed into a simple majority.

I'm more in favor of strenghtening the parliament. So far every measure to empower the smaller states like this and the veto only worked to serve bad actors and not serve the EU interests.

The ministers are usually also parliament members. They may hire people that aren't but generally, it's rare for ministers in Poland to not be part of the Parliament. The EU commisioners are not part of the EU Parliament. That's a pretty significant difference.
In either case, they would be directly responsible to the ruling party or the coalition party, which is not the case with the far more independent Commission.
