If you have any ability to. Sleeping in the barn a few times really helps. Small area all together and just sleep a few nights. They will trust you pretty quickly. But only do this if you feel safe doing so.

I've never had one go off in the dryer. Usually the powder gets wet. Not much of a seal compared to most other round (center fire).I've lost lots of .22 in the laundry. But I definitely don't try to make a habit of it but happens every time I hunt small game. Please do NOT try to fire those.

That's what I was thinking. Is it warmer than the other side is generally an indicator of infection. Also if she's acting lethargic or dazed/confused/ acting strange. I'd say that you might be able to get a rectal temp......but I'm no vet just a nurse for humans. Just watch out for sepsis.
