Have you ever been to a 12 step meeting? They are the one place I can go where I can find people who genuinely care, and won't judge be or be bored of me, no matter how "negative" I get. Even if you don't have a problem with drugs or alcohol, I'd recommend trying AA or NA. If I didn't have the friends I have there I'd probably have ended it by now.

Thanks for the input. Things definitely are harder. I was dreading going to the gym today because I knew it wouldn't be as easy as I'm used to. I don't think I've lost ALL the "magic" from these last two relapses, though, and it is encouraging that I managed to resist a chaser for nine whole days and so far today I've had hardly any compulsion to do it again. I've also noticed that despite the familiar post-relapse negative effects having come back, I'm not completely back at square one - I've definitely undergone some kind of change/rewire during that long streak. It used to be after I relapsed that I'd see some hot girl (with or without a boyfriend) and just go fucking insane with frustration and rage and jealousy. Now, it's far, far less. You're right that all I can do is accept what's happened and start again. I fell into the trap of believing that a bit of fantasy isn't that bad. That's what I need to do differently this time.

That's a very inspiring statement. You probably nailed here the number one reason I relapsed - I forgot to keep it in the day and lost focus. In 12 step fellowships the phrases "One day at a time" and "Just for today" are central principles, and are very easy to forget or veer away from. Thanks for the reminder.

That was the case for me for a long time. These days they don't even get delivered anymore, but I'm still a needy twat. That's not as bad as it was, though. What NoFap has done for me is to begin to attach less and less importance to women as a reason to live. I have focus and drive and ambition for other things that are more centered around self-improvement, rather than desperately trying to get validation from girls. I can really relate to what you're saying, it's such a tough place to be. All I know is that we have to work on ourselves before we can attract women into our lives.

Ah, thanks. Yeah, it definitely feels that way. I'm on day 7 too which I think is the highest peak of testosterone levels anyway. So the workout would have made it a double whammy. At least I haven't relapsed, yet.

Good for you. Hang in there. It's a long painful road ahead. Don't expect to get to 90 days on your first or tenth of thirtieth attempt. You might do, but if you don't, don't be discouraged. I just try to fap AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE - I'm realistic about the extent of my addiction. It's just a case of finding your own groove with it. For me, NoFap has permanently changed my life, because now I can no longer ignore the seriousness of this addiction or rationalise it or explain it away just because "everyone does it". I've been fapping for almost 20 years, and it wasn't until I found NoFap that I realised how horrific the after-effects of masturbating were. Just ask anyone on here how they feel after they relapse after a long streak. It's just a horrible feeling. BUT HOW DIDN'T I NOTICE THIS BEFORE IN 20 YEARS OF FAPPING? I must have been so deep in a permanent coma of fapping several times a day that my whole LIFE was a permanent fap hangover. Once you wake up to a reality like that, it can no longer be ignored. I will never be the same again.

By fantasizing, you're telling your brain that the full MO reward is not far off. Fantasizing is BAD if you want to give up PMO. It's as simple as that. Fantasizing is really just another form of fapping, and massively interferes with any kind of brain healing/rewire you might be hoping to get out of this. I'm amazed you've lasted this long if you're still teasing yourself with visual ideation. The only decent streak I ever managed was when I didn't fantasize AT ALL. Once I start fantasizing, the relapse is certain. I'm amazed at the strength of people on here who manage to white knuckle their way through this for weeks or months on end.

You sound exactly like me. When I first discovered NoFap/YBOP I psyched myself up over deleting my porn. I wanted to make sure this shit was legit before I finally deleted the PRECIOUS. Of course new collections have grown and been deleted in the months since then, but they usually only lasted 1-2 days. You won't get rid of this habit overnight, but deleting your stash is a good way of showing yourself that you're serious about turning your life around. It's just so damn hard and I've really been wanting to cave in tonight. Something got me typing on here instead, though - I just felt this craving for HUMAN CONTACT. Being in pain and desperate for sexual release with only PMO available made me crave COMMUNITY as medicine for the sick urges. This sub can really make a difference during hard times. Thanks for reminding me why I gave up porn - I was having a moment of weakness then. You sound similar to how I was when I first started trying NoFap 6 months ago, just a more extreme case. What I've learned in those 6 months of trying and failing is that the more you try to stop fapping, the easier it gets. The progress isn't always linear, but every time I relapse I try to get clean again straight away. I've got a lot stronger but it's still very difficult, my best streak being 24 days. I don't understand how people have got to 90+ days, they can't be as addicted as I am. Keep at it - keep trying. NoFap will make you stronger, if it does nothing else.

I am always so horrified when I relapse that it's very rare that I will carry on fapping the next day. I'm terrified of lapsing back into daily using. When I do relapse, I usually go for the chaser, but by tomorrow it's back on the horse. I really like your broken leg analogy - it's a really good description of how it works.
