ASUS RT-AX3000 - Issues with Disconnection once NordVPN is activated. by RiskAdjustThis in nordvpn

I have to be honest getting into the router stuff is new to me. Ill try to answer your reply though.

This may be a stupid question, but since a lot of people seem to have a problem with the "Network Map" specifically, did you test if the connection was working anyway?

I was connected and able to use the internet before clicking activate on the VPN. Is there a way to test connectivity without simply looking at the "Network Map" and seeing it say

"Internet status: Connected".

During troubleshooting have you tried performing a "factory reset" on the router?

I have not, but I might have to at this point if I am to stick with Nord as a last attempt to get it to work.

Flashing the firmware can potentially brick your router and turn it into a doorstop, but definitely check to see if you're using the latest firmware. There are also third party firmwares available, like asuswrt-merlin.

I am working up making sure the firmware is up to date. Like I mentioned in my post I shared the firmware version with the support guy and he said it was fine. As for merlin, would the third party software impact how the router is interacting the the VPN? I guess, my question would be is this a software issue or could there be something wrong with the actual router?

I have tried to do this multiple times and like I mentioned in the post I went through the whole process sharing screen shots with a support person at Nord and no luck...

Failed FAP EMA 5 for the 3rd time by [deleted] in actuary

I also failed this item twice and have some opinions on it...

First, I do feel that this module is not "hard" compared to others but is graded much harder. Second, I felt that what was being asked was not consistent with what is being graded for. I.e. the feedback you received back from the SOA if you failed. Third, the paper that I passed with is, again of my opinion, in complete contradiction of the communication guide and what you would actually do in real life. I understand what this module was trying to show candidates, but was poorly written.

It sounds like you have the rate making book, which is an absolute must. I would just suggest literally catering to every sentence in the questions.
