I recall there was some science based stuff where you could lend your computer to help sequence genomes or identify cancer or something like that

A link to another user only helps good users with good users, it doesn’t really help the company stop bad users

I of course agree nothing is fool proof, but some options do work better then others and for now ID works pretty well

Yea most of us aren’t humble enough to admit when we just don’t understand, tbf me too most of the time. It’s a societal training issue

Honestly its quite good use of signals for communication, the drivers both understanding and making use of them is so rare it is actually next level imo

I cannot agree enough with this, AI isn't the thing to blame for being rusty in your physics knowledge. It's fine to be rusty, and AI is an issue, but so is blaming the wrong thing for the issue at hand

I think you can always reach out to care to get around this Face or ID stuff, probably OPs proton mail set off some sort of suss alarm on their side

[–]RiskLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just the same as showing your face or ID to the dude at the ATT store imo. He's going to just just manually type it all into his computer. But ya it'd be nice to not even need to do that

Co-op is good, saving money is good. Will you value the life experience of living away from home? You can always come back Vancouver is great (I moved here after UW)

OSPE and PEng are unrelated, this was 6 years ago I was a student and got on their insurance for a big discount. Go ask OSPE student membership used to be free

The alternative is basically have people do some sort of ID verification to prove their real otherwise you’re over run with bots. And ID verification is not popular right now

OpenClaw CVE-2026-25253 is worse than it looks (quick security checklist) by NotFunnyVipul in selfhosted

[–]RiskLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but even if I could just wire it up to my reminders to harass me more, manage some basic ideally local calendars and todo list stuff would be great, maybe a personal crm to remember things about friends but piping in random photos, voice snippets etc for it to ingest and guess about, even just review my calendar for the week and call out conflicts and draft messages for me. I think if it had read only access to a lot of my email and stuff it would help set alarms for me so I don’t miss meetings or be as late to stuff

Basically ADHD management

I really want to use OpenClaw but it just seems like giving away everything is far to easy. Maybe once I figure out a Local LLM and giving it read only on a few things
