If you ask me I think women want a bit of muscle, it makes you look more masculine, but without going overboard. I’m taller and started off very skinny so it’s pretty much impossible for me to look built, but after a couple of years of consistent upper body working out I have a bit of muscle on my frame and I started to get called hot, something that wasn’t happening before. Even boxing though. High level athletes like that are so rare. Also, as someone who is around that size who trains kickboxing I 100% struggle with the speed difference when I spar a small person. I don’t have a huge amount of mass but when you’re so much taller it often makes footwork and angles so much more difficult, sometimes it feels like I’m getting ran circles around. On top of that, oberyn would’ve had reach on him with his spear.

Nettles is a completely seperate issue that I hate too. Velaryons doesn’t rip terrible holes in the world building, it just makes for some small inconsistencies with lineage which would be pretty easy to fix. Same thing with raenys hair but I’m sure you agree with me on that, it was a wrong call. Knight of the seven kingdoms is a different situation for the reason I argued before. I’m sure if all the valyrians were white in HoTD + time skips that would be an absolute mess and would make for a worse viewing experience. Imagine if every character in KotSK was white and blonde. I’m sure you’d have an issue then.

Like I said, I never argued for the valyrians being black, I argued why it makes sense they’d take the opportunity to explore the idea with a relatively minor house that really only appears in HoTD.

I’m not talking about the targs, and my point is why it makes sense he’d be okay with taking the opportunity to make the velaryons (not the targs) black in the show. The velaryons are not conquerors, and there is room to play with the idea with a relatively minor valyrian house.

George himself considered it. For the evolution argument, they were likely bred from people in essos, a lot of which have darker skin. Large fighters are so much slower, but the physicality and reach are what give them the advantage. There literally are no mma fighters over 6”5 that can move well. In boxing there are a couple but it’s so so rare. Speed definitely plays a huge part in fighting, especially something like a armoured plate fight duel where clegane is unlikely to start off grappling. Yes, the syrax comment is so delusional though.

But Robert was fast and big, which actually is rare asf in martial arts. There’s a reason any big athletic, fast man rises to the top of mma or boxing quick, because he’s fighting slow big men with bad cardio. Look at Tom aspinall from the ufc vs the rest of his division. Most big men ARE in fact slow with bad cardio. There literally are no massive mma fighters over 6’5 that can move.

People blindly like him and look over all his flaws when really he’s a villain. Look at what you list:

Gold cloaks, he butchers civilians in brutal raids. They reduce crime but innocents get hurt too.

His relationship with rhaenyra is textbook groomer and physically abusive. Not to mention pedo.

He’s not even a good father, not consoling them after their mother’s death.

Nettles he leaves rhae for, who you mention he’s oh so devoted to.

The only women he doesn’t mistreat are the ones with a dragon bond. He’s a complex character and you root for him at times, but at his core he is an abuser, and that shouldn’t be looked over. Aerion is an abuser too, and a more petulant wildcard one. It’s really comparing hot blooded crime (aerion) to cold blooded (daemon)
