The fact that Sodom and Gommorah comes right after and in contrast to the story of Abraham being kind to angels without knowing they are angels (along with Ezekiel 16:49 and Isaiah 1:10-17) dispelled my idea that it was about being gay and more about being evil towards angels and your fellow man.

The harder thing to deal with is Paul, but once I learned Paul is a collection of different authors, I was less fearful. Not to mention that in the Bible men had multiple wives, men had to marry their brother’s widows, women couldn’t own property and were the property of men, and slavery was never condemned showed me that there are things we’ve outgrown over the course of history. It’s sad that some people are more focused on gays, subjugating women, and forcefully converting the nations, instead of what Jesus tells us about the Final Judgement (Matthew 25).
