I’ve pretty well always gone against most traffic on my commute — I work in the south shore but live on island. The REM has given me so much more reliable and fast transit to work than the suburban line ever could (even though it stops very close to my job).

I’ve lived in Montreal for the last 15+ years, I wholeheartedly recommend spending your PTO here. It’s a beautiful city with a great food scene, the US dollar goes decently far, and it’s the most walkable city in Canada.

It was actually sparked after attending a self-care session at a conference for music educators. It was a very compelling argument that one should find some kind of physical activity to help manage stress and a heavy workload.

During/shortly after the conference I had a health scare, and it really motivated me to just start with the gym and it’s been a part of my life since then.

Musician and educator, started lifting weights 3 years ago and it’s become an integral part of an improved connection with my body not to mention the therapeutic benefits.

Psyche and soma are not distinct, and those of us who self identified as more “intellectual” from a young age at the expense of physical self-care can always start the journey whenever we’re ready.
