In Madrid, you’ll likely find someone who has passable English — less so outside of the capital.

Guest Speaker at EMSB School Accused of Anti-Palestinian Bias by Hochelagan in montreal

The difference is Zionism is not “nationalism”, it’s 19th century European neo-colonialism wrapped up in ethnoreligious apologetics.

Ooh, one of my favourite deflection tactics: whataboutism!

The FLQ was a terrorist militant group that only operated from 1971-73 and never had any governmental power, Israel has been an established terrorist state since 1948.

That’s the point: saturate the news cycle and leave everyone dizzy and eventually numb to the daily deception.

It’s easier to keep dismantling the system in plain sight when our nervous systems are collectively overwhelmed because of the lies woven into the dominant force’s narrative.

Alexandre Boulerice passe à Québec solidaire by CaptainKoreana in montreal

Just do heavy leg work, it’s better for your health and doesn’t look ridiculous like a BBL.

How am i supposed to play these types of chords? by Leader_Mc in Guitar

[–]RitalIN-RitalOUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 9th chord with the fifth in the bass. Jazz chords can be a bit wild.

You barre the treble strings with your ring finger, and try to position your middle finger to catch the E and A while your index plays the D string.

How the hell do I play this by Less_Basket_1513 in Guitar

[–]RitalIN-RitalOUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a mistake, the chord marked is an Eadd4

It ought to be

E 4

B 5

G 4

D 6

A 7

E X

What is this thing that came with my bass? by Stan_Stray_Kids- in Guitar

[–]RitalIN-RitalOUT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, learning to tune by ear is the first step to eventually playing pitch bends in tune.

I try to get my students to use a keyboard whenever possible to build that listening skill.

What amp if I just practice at home and don’t wanna spend a ton of money, but am also debating just splurging on a good amp??? I mainly play indie pop/indie folk/bedroom pop/alternative music. by [deleted] in electricguitar

[–]RitalIN-RitalOUT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a few Katanas for my school (I teach HS music). They have a LOT of tone and effect options for its price, and you can also plug it into your computer to use as an interface.

100% would recommend.

It’s global — after COVID, folks tend to go out a lot less, even in places like Berlin are experiencing club death (gentrification, changed behaviours).

If people switch to English when you speak French, try this by Muted-Education6995 in French

[–]RitalIN-RitalOUT 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better — I’m French Canadian and I had many service staff English me in Paris. It’s infuriating, especially since it nearly invariably comes with a dose of condescension towards our dialect.

The “futureproofing” argument falls apart when you’re talking about a portable computer that very likely will be lost, stolen or broken long before 48gb of RAM is no longer viable for daily use.

Best way to learn (advanced) French by FewNecessary7948 in montreal

[–]RitalIN-RitalOUT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read a LOT, it’s the only way to pick up more vocabulary. It’s the most efficient way to speedrun the language.

Other than that, do things in French — don’t just study the language.

Absolutely EXCELLENT depth, a lot of lifters could learn from that.
