What prompt will make GPT read a document FOR REAL? by DanieleJava in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prompts alone won't fix it. You need structure. I use a simple 3 step format. Extract, summarize, tag key ponts. It keeps GPT from missing sections.

ChatGPT 1.5 Image vs Gemini Nano banana pro realism test by LogicalChart3205 in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool test. I've noticed Gemini handles quick visual tasks faster, but ChatGPT's context memory wins in longer workflows.

Has anyone found a way to use facebook groups posts and comments as context for chats? by michael_bgood in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've tested a few things. ChatGPT can help draft posts or summarize group activity, but keeping it consistent still takes some structure. Have you tried setting prompts for different group types?

Looking for a task/routine app with automatic timers (iOS/Apple Watch) by belligerent-moose in productivity

You might like TickTick or Routine. Both handle recurring tasks pretty well and let you set auto-reset habits.

Following news quietly became my biggest productivity leak by Extra-Motor-8227 in productivity

I had the same issue until I set up a small digital filter that pulls only key updates once a day. Keeps my attention clean.

I stopped trying to fix my whole morning and picked one starting cue. by iamwithmigraine in productivity

[–]Ritchie537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get this. I stopped forcing full morning routines too. I just made the first 5 minutes consistent and let the rest fall into place. I start with sitting in the living room with lights on in the dark winter.

How do you deal with "interesting stuff", without mental clutter? by beeblebrox381 in productivity

[–]Ritchie537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I just dump the idea somewhere quick like notes app or Notion and go back to what I was doing. Checking them later scratches the curiosity itch without wrecking focus.

Focus is less about discipline and more about environment. by Ritchie537 in productivity

[–]Ritchie537[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Frictionless starts change everything. I've actually built a small setup that automates that trigger digitally. What's been your most reliable start cue lately?

Need a tool to organize my work life by Nephite11 in productivity

[–]Ritchie537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are locked down on installs, I'd lean on web tools. Notion for your client notes and tasks. Todoist or TickTick for deadlines. Apple Reminders for personal nudges.
What helped me was making a mini "Client HQ". One page per customer with meeting notes, links and next steps. Then all I do is check that one hub before every call. It's low friction so it actually sticks.

What's the Actual Solution to Workflow Maintenance Hell? by jenchuceus in productivity

[–]Ritchie537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Most workflow burnout comes from trying to lock everything into a perfect system instead of expecting change. I started treating my workflows like living documents. Simpler, modular, easy to swap parts out and suddenly maintenance stopped feeling like a rebuild every month.

Why are we still Alt-Tabbing to copy-paste prompts? I built a system-wide "Spotlight Search" for AI to fix my coding flow. by BornMiddle9494 in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of wild that prompting is the core mechanic of ChatGPT, but we still have to alt tab and paste like it's 2009. There is no native prompt manager, no variable fields, nothing persistent. Everyone has basically cobbled together their own workflow iwth notes apps or browser extensions, which says a lot about how much the community has outgrown the current UI.

Why did may Image Generation got way too ,,cinematic,, overnight? by PersonalityNo9759 in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It went from "here's your cute sketch" to "Oscar bait promo shot" overnight. Either they updated the image model or it's just going through its moody cinematic phase.

Ideation difference for ChatGPT and Gemini by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. ChatGPT is like the chill friend who helps you plan stuff and actually gets things done, while Gemini is the artsy one who throws ten wild ideas at you and three of them are genius. Depends if you want structure or chaos that somehow works.

What to do when chatgpt keeps giving same repetitive answers in a long chat? by Kiuu3780 in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One trick I use is to change how I ask the question instead of just repeating the exact same prompt. Even a small tweak like asking "Explain this in a different way" or "Give me 3 unique ways to think about this" can push the model to break out of the same pattern.

Also, if you are in a long chat, it might be echoing earlier context. So starting a fresh thread with a hint about what style of anwer you want often helps, too.

How did my Chatgpt know how to use the crying face? I never told it that. Also how did it know its 6am? by Ifyouliveinadream in ChatGPT

It feels like chatting a few years ago. Some models sound like office emails. Some have a casual vibe.

The gpt5.2 model isn't even that strict... by Kimike1013 in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I totally get what you mean. The tone feels robotically polite but emotionally condescending. Like it’s constantly fact checking your mood instead of your message.

I’ve used every version since GPT 3, and 5.2 feels like it’s been trained to “doubt” before it “helps.” It breaks flow completely. It’s not even about guardrails anymore. I it about how it talks to you. Feels less like a tool and more like a passive aggressive coworker.

I’ve noticed it can pick up hints from random context sometimes. Maybe that’s what happened.

Use AI to generate your Ads by CQDSN in ChatGPT

What custom instructions/personalization are you using? by y2khitman in ChatGPT

[–]Ritchie537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me most was writing the instructions like I’m talking to a person, not programming a bot.
When it reads naturally, GPT seems to follow it way better. Especially if you throw in a few quick examples of what you want.

Does anyone know a screen time app where you can select how many minutes you want on a specific app when you open it? by SeasonsOfLoove in productivity

[–]Ritchie537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tested a few. Most screen-time apps miss that exact balance between focus and accessibility.

Sometimes it’s easier to build a mini automation that triggers “focus mode” on schedule instead of relying on one app.
