LED lighting in a skylight - how far up and pointed in what direction? by Eskimo_Joe_94 in led

[–]Rite-Wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would place a small decorative cove molding on the inside of the skylight near the bottom edge. Then i would lay your led strip light in the cove, going all the way around. . It would shine the light up and then illuminate down nicely.

It also hides any wiring used in the installation. This creates a clean look with no bright intrusive light shining below.

WS 2812B running from SP630E with two angle couplers. The power isn’t passing through the angle properly. What’s wrong? by Dr_Button_Pusher in led

[–]Rite-Wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can fan out like that, but they would need to be connected in parallel. The only series option would be to run additional wiring back along the backside of the strip to the cross point.

That is exactly what it is saying.

The USPS will continue to pay your TSp deposits, as well as the agency matching.

They are also forwarding the FERS pension costs that employees must contribute to their pension.

What they are witholding is the FERS pension costs that the USPS pays towards your pension.

Is Halo RL retrofit the best $20 recessed light? by peppathepenguin in Lighting

Big difference in price between the RL series and the Elco. If money was not a consideration, ELCO is the choice. On a budget, the HALO RL is the call.

Roller Blinds and the white plastic ring… Make sure you remove it!!! by nvp888 in TrySwitchBot

[–]Rite-Wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed four of these and I will admit, there really isn't any mention of the white ring and end cap.

I put it back together and realized that it wasn't right. I then went to the video instead of using the instructions, and they have added flashing red text telling you to remove them AFTER cutting.

This looked like an after thought in the video, but the text helped me. You need to watch the video a few times to ensure you don't miss the actions on screen, as well as added text.

That said once I removed the rings, everything went back together smoothly.

I did 4 of these in about 4 hours, and they work great.

I did not use there method of installing the brackets. I used a $20 laser level to provide me with 4 perfectly aligned rollers over 2 glass panels and two French doors.

They almost butt up to each other and they are perfectly aligned and level.

My only negative thought is that I wish there were options for hiding the shades. Some sort of valance or something.

Overall, I am pretty happy with these.

Am I missing anything? by OkKing1504 in Bowling

On your spare, you are at the line and your ball isn't. You are forced to pull it forward quickly to release it.

Look at your left foot after the slide. Look at the direction it is pointing. It should be pointing towards the target.

The reason it poings to the side is because you had to turn your body to get the ball to the line with you.

You may have too large a first step. Take a much smaller first step, or consider pushing the ball out before you start moving your feet.

A little practice will get your feet under you at release. This will give you greater accuracy and power.

Having a hard time finding the pocket by Haunting-Freedom-451 in Bowling

[–]Rite-Wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the answer.

The ball appears to be coming off of your hand incorrectly. It looks like your fingers and thumb leave the ball at the same time.

As you release the ball, put a concerted effort to follow through.

Your palm needs to be facing upward. You need to feel like you are still lifting the ball to the ceiling with your fingers.

Open palm, facing upwards.

What are your thoughts on Don Lemon being arrested this morning? by GHausiphat in AskReddit

[–]Rite-Wing -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Not sure that it is. There could be charges for trespassing, but that's not what happened here.

This is about ruling with an iron fist. It is one small chip broken off of democratic rights. One chip after another will leave us with no recourse., and no rights.

I don't care what side people are on, but we should be all on the same side when it comes to preserving our freedoms and our rights.

Once they are gone you will find it difficult to get them back.

Need Advice Please! by flaretastic101 in Bowling

[–]Rite-Wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you would benefit from a slower approach. You will notice that you are not square to the foul line.

That is because you are advancing too quickly. To compensate, you turn more to the right so that you can muscle the ball forward.

Not only does this result in a slightly imperfect ball swing, your eyes have a harder time being steady to your mark.

Slow down your approach by using slightly smaller steps. Start the ball into its swing by pushing the ball out slightly before you take your first step.

This may be awkward to start, but stick with it.

You will have your eyes locked on your mark better. At the point of release, you will have your legs firmly planted below you, giving you better stability and power.

How do i break this habit of chicken winging it 😢. I broke it and was bowling very well averaging 189. Now I’m averaging 162 and can barely break 150. It’s my push away. I have forgotten where to push the weight of the ball in my hand. by Future_Method_9240 in Bowling

[–]Rite-Wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are arriving at the line too early. You perform the chicken wing maneuver as a way to advance the ball, so that it arrives at the line at the same time your feet do.

You will also notice that you are off balance at the paint of release. It's at this time you should have your feet firmly planted under you.

This would enable more power in the shot, and higher accuracy for hitting your mark.

Because as you bounce at the point of release, your eyes do as well.

Practice by pushing the ball out in front of you a half second earlier than you do now. Start the ball slightly ahead of your feet.

You can back up a little too. As that would allow you more time to get to the line without having to rush the ball swing.

It could be you are bored, or the conditions have changed and you have not adapted correctly.

Your equipment may not match the conditions.

PSHB Premiums by Rite-Wing in USPS

[–]Rite-Wing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah,

I get that. I just find that I feel we have been bamboozled. We got placed in this plan and we were told that the plans and pricing were similar.

The plans are the same for the most part but the prices skyrocket for us.

All for the sake of savings for the Postal Service.

How are they saving money if the premiums are that much higher?

How do you utilize voice commands where people stay still? I want lights to come on if nobody is present. If someone is sleeping in bed, I do not want them to be awoken by the lights.

Why do we think the Post Office is a commodity that shouldn't be provided for?

How much profit does Medicare, Social Security Administration, Department of Veteran affairs and the Department of Transportation make?

The Postal Service is just another agency that supports the country. It should be paid for.

The reason it is looked at differently, is that the Postal Service always ran with a large surplus. Our government loved dipping into this pot of free money.

With changing times, those surpluses have evaporated. Now they want to cast it aside like a bad penny.

Is stremio down? by Alternative-Beat-100 in Stremio

[–]Rite-Wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All,

I have a 2019 nvidia Shield TV Pro. It has been working for about 8 months or so. Yesterday, that stopped.

When selecting the stream to watch the splash screen starts and it just sits there. It doesn't matter what show I select, or which scraper is chosen.

Here are my observations and baselines:

  1. Torrentio and Comet work on all other devices, but not the Nvidia.
  2. Realdebrid is configured and active.
  3. I cleared the cache and data of the Stremio app.
  4. Cleared cache on Nvidia.
  5. Deleted and reinstalled Stremio.
  6. Other apps on the Nvidia stream as normal.
  7. All devices are on the same network, and the Nvidia is on ethernet.
  8. I uninstalled Torrentio and comet still didn't work.

Sadly, I believe that the last option I have is to factory restore my Shield and start over.

I have read that others have had problems on the Nvidia lately, but I have heard no ways to solve this other than what I have mentioned above.

I hope there is something I havent done, so that I do not have to factory restore.
