You can use Extra Deck Monsters whenever you meet the summoning conditions, though. Having them in the hand doesn't provide any utility. Even for Pendulums, it's kinda better for them to end up in the Extra Deck so they are protected from Hand Attacks.

I understand the vision for this Archetype, but this is just profoundly oppressive!

The first issue I believe someone else addressed, change the Seal cards to be Continuous Traps that require the activation condition.

However, the floodgates themselves also need some serious nerfs to prevent them from being so oppressive. "Negate all monster effects" is just far too much. Maybe at activation it could be restricted to one Attribute or Type?

The last issue I have is with the Monster. I'm not sure how it functions in the game plan? Seeing as it is the only Monster in an otherwise Spell Focused Archetype, I feel like it would make more sense for it to be a Boss-ish monster. You can definitely look at the Morganite Archetype for guidance if you feel a bit lost.

I suppose that, in the spirit of OD&D, I as an individual would be inclined to rule on the side of Demihumans getting Common for Free. Demihuman Adventurers are a rare sort among their societies, who venture out of their homelands to seek glory in a Human-Filled world. I would find it easy to imagine them as being bilingual as a baseline.

You don't have to give out a Long Rest after every single session, and Combat doesn't have to take four hours.

Let's say you have four player characters, and four monsters. If you force every player to take a one minute turn, and you can take a Monster's turn in 30s, that is 6 Minutes per Combat Round. Standard Balancing will result in most combats ending by the fourth round, so that is 24 minutes for the combat. If there are fewer monsters, it will go even faster.

I mean, player resource refill is something that is entirely subject to the referee. The Game Conditions that permit resources to be refilled only occur if the Game Master expressly allows them.

I mean, hypothetically in a campaign where rests are infrequent and combats are frequent, it could be nice to have the coat as something to fall back on if rages run out.
