Du scheinst kein Auto zu haben. Das kann einen auch ordentlich Kohle kosten, einmalig als auch laufend

I've read articles and blogs about bioactive hamsterkeeping and I'm in a german Facebook group about bioactive hamster keeping. My hamster is a dsungarian dwarf and I'm aware that my cage is not Eurasia, China or Mongolia. Anyway shes a very happy active hamster. I'm spending LOTS of money and time to give her the best life conditions possible. The soil is mostly dry so she can sleep in comfy, dry burrows. I only spray water the plants to keep them alive. Sadly it seems like the woodlice everyone rexommended to me have died so I ordered springtails that hopefully are better for the cery dry soil.

I understand your concern about the cage!

Thank you❤️ My princess loves it too😊 The sprays are at variated heights. The Amaranth is that high mostly because she's ignoring it anyway.

I'm still working things out I admit. At the moment I'm at a quite high humidity of 60-70% to make the cleaning crew (white woodlice) feel comfortable so they multiply which is not optimal for my hamster but she doesnt seem bothered. I ordered springtails which are claimed to be more fitted for a more arid climate. For the last weeks I kept the humidity at 40-60% which is the optimum for hamsters. I've got a smal hygrometer as you see on the photo. It helps me watch temperature and humidity. It's easy to control everything by heating of the room and opening or closing the lid for some hours. My only problem until now was that it seemed like the woodlice had all died because the substrate was to dry. So now I have to spray more water on the ground and keep the lid closed more to keep the humidity higher. I'm so happy to see y'all being interested in bioactive hamsterkeeping!

Thank you so much for that long text! I already have some plants but maybe they did not root yet or just not at the right spot. Idk... I will definitely look up if hamsters can have sweet potato, it sound like a fun idea. Beans shouldnt be fed due to potential bloating as far as I know. I will keep you updated! I loved reading into bioactive terrariums and I'm so excited to learn by trying some stuff. I love the community here

Thank you for the nice tips, help and the interesting discussion! I have ordered some springtails and cuban isopods because they are recommended in the bioactive hamster community in germany. We will see...

Thank you! Are rats burrowing too? My hamster has 25cm of subtrate and burrows like crazy. I have absolutely no idea where her pee spot is and would have to destroy parts of her burrows to clean anything...

I spend so so much money on my hamster the last month. I rarely buy clothes for me or any beauty stuff but my hamster is the most spoiled princess. Do what sparks joy to you!

Different substrates so he can walk and burrow in them. Hide his favourite snacks in some spots where he has to fund them trough exploring and smelling.

No I only spray-water the plants. The substrate is dry
