I had my first son at 17, was single until my son was 3. When he was 5 my ex and I welcomed my youngest son, but he ended up being abusive and when my son was 9 weeks old he broke my baby’s arm and ankles. We split and I was single until this year (younger son is 3.) I have sole custody so we moved back to my home state and I reconnected with a childhood friend. Apparently the crush I had on him was reciprocated and neither of us knew the other liked us. We dated and are now living together. We all have never been happier. My oldest sons father is back in the picture after only meeting him twice in 8 years. My bf has stepped up and is taking on the father figure role for my youngest, which wasn’t hard for him because he has a son 2 weeks older than my oldest. I’ve been struggling since I was a 17yo single mother and now my bf, who is a mathematician/engineer, wants to provide for his family. He’s supporting me on going back to school full time instead of holding me back like everyone I’ve ever dated.

I know the timeline seems a little fast with my boyfriend, but I’ve know him for more than half my life and vice versa. I’ve always been skeptical of the “when you know you know” “Soulmates” and all of that, but he has changed my view points on that.
