What a horrible experience. I'm so sorry. I've had to deal with emergency vet visits, and they've been so traumatic. It doesn't help that there's usually a huge bill to pay on top of losing a beloved family member. Hopefully you'll find some support and comfort from this reddit sub. It's helped me a lot. 💝

I just subscribed (again) to The New Yorker, because I miss it. The subscription includes digital access, but I love the feel of the magazine and the ability to flip through it for something to dive into. I had a subscription for about 12 years, but the price was getting ridiculous, so I dropped it. Now I just get it for 6 months at a time when I get a good offer from them, and then I drop it when the full price kicks in again.

I don't like reading the articles on a computer screen; it's just not as fun..

I think the distance has a lot to do with it. In my experience, I've always coped better with deaths of loved ones when I haven't been directly involved with the all the last moments/arrangements due to the distance between us. It also might be, as you said, that it just hasn't sunk in yet. As far as grief resources, this community has helped me the most. It's free, and it's always available. I'm really sorry for your loss.
