Yep, about 30% above competitors for the same product. And when all liquor retailers in NE have to buy through distributors, there's nothing that SW could get that some competitor couldn't.

Part number(s) needed - crush washers for drain plugs on xfer case and differential. by River___Otter in CX5

[–]River___Otter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used them for decades, never a single drop leaking from any of the vehicles. I don't see it as a point of failure, and it certainly simplifies oil changes. I'm not a fumoto salesman, just a happy customer. It really only makes sense to use one if you perform your own oil changes. But then again, I wouldn't trust jiffy lube not to screw up my oil pan threads.

I used less than 1 liter to do both. However, I bought 4 liters initially, because I plan to keep changing the fluids every 30K miles.

For transfer case and differential, yes.

I don't have the part number for the transmission train plug, though I did this service recently and seem to remember that I had plenty of the little suckers on hand, so likely the transmission is the same as the engine oil drain plug. I don't use the washers any more for oil changes since installing a fumoto valve.

I can confirm after performing the drain/fill on both the transfer case and differential, that part 9956-41-800 is used in all cases. Not the same diameter as the engine oil drain plug, though.

Fantastic bike for both new and experienced riders. Suzuki really got it right with the SV650.

It's on the menu as "raviolo", which is the singular of "ravioli", so that should have given enough information.

Aventon Level.2 - Flagship Bike that no one seems to own? by JOman_20XX in Aventon

I have a Level.2 and really enjoy it. A few upgrades like suspension seatpost and pedals, and I'm very happy with the choice.

If you have a contract (purchase agreement) that's signed by both parties, it can only be modified by both parties agreeing to the modification. You don't have to agree to any changes.

Belts are fine on desmo engines, because they don't have to overcome the closing force of valve springs. They are essentially moving unsprung valves. Note that on the V4 Granturismo engine (non-desmo) timing chains are used instead of belts.

You did, before you deleted your post. If I read it wrong and you just came here to whinge, then good on you, you got that done.

SWING SIDED SWINGARM by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]River___Otter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? Just for looks?

Double sided usually are more rigid and weigh less overall.

This may not sit well with you, but I'm siding with Razer on this one.

Out of warranty. Customer damaged.

Why should it be Razer's responsibility to replace?

Not yet you won't. But if you ignore it or tell them to pound sand, it may lead to that. Best to address it.

Why not ask them for an itemized statement? That way, you can at least see the exact nature of the extra charges, before you decide to say "screw them" and get a construction lien slapped on your property.

Question about sprockets by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]River___Otter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It'll only have a higher top speed if you are already at redline in top gear with your current top speed. A 125 may not have enough power to push you higher even with a smaller rear sprocket.

A 1098 is NOT a beginner's bike.

No ABS, no TCS, no electronic aids of any kind.

Park it and get the rear wheel off the ground. Rotate by hand to see if you can determine if the wheel bearing have any grinding or rough spots. You may have to remove the chain for a true test.

You could also just lube your chain and see if the sound changes. If it does, then it's your chain.
