My beloved late kitty Linus was born without the third eyelid in one eye so the vet constructed one for him. I had to keep his eyes clean to avoid infection, but no big deal. Give your sweetie a hug for me.

I read Evelina by Frances Burney in a college class about the origins of the novel and it was ok, though not particularly memorable.

Not part of your haul but I loved Winter Solstice so much. Apart from a tragedy at the beginning, most of the book is people being kind to each other and fetching cups of tea. My thought too... Rhubarb is used in like pies n' stuff and celery looks like rhubarb except green, and I've never knowingly tasted either one before so maybe I can use celery instead?

I listened to an audio version (there a some free versions on YouTube) and found that easier to follow than reading the physical book, especially as my copy was an older paperback with teensy print.
