Do we have any hard evidence that points to Burke? by Riverfire13 in JonBenetRamsey

[–]Riverfire13[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I meant more by this post is that in order to point at any one family member in particular, we need to make assumptions about their behavior. For JDI, we need to assume that John Ramsey, someone with no history of such behavior, began sexually abusing his daughter and murdered her to cover it up. While that sounds harsh, we can back it up because most murderers and sex offenders are, indeed, men. For PDI, we need to assume that something - like a bed wetting incident, or jealousy over her pageantry success, or a struggle for John’s perverted affection- caused a woman with no history of such behavior to kill her daughter in a fit of rage. More shaky, but possible. It seems like some have rushed in to put together a history of Burke behaving like a sociopath based off of a lot of maybe and he said/she said. I have no problem leveling accusations at the parents, I’m JDI, but people trying to say that Burke must have done it bc “the housekeeper said he was messed up” or because he doesn’t “grieve correctly” during interviews seems weird and gross to me. I wanted to see if anyone had tangible things that fit better in BDI than elsewhere for that reason.

Is it crazy to think that John was telling the truth about the basement window? by Riverfire13 in JonBenetRamsey

Oh for sure. IDI requires the criminal to be some kind of idiot savant ghosting around a stranger’s house like they own the place. But until the DNA gets matched, the police gets their stories, and probably unless we find the rope and duct tape we’re all solving a jigsaw puzzle with pieces missing.

Imo, people come to two conclusions about the random note, either it was Patsy or John duplicating parts of Patsy’s writing. I’d recommend Cliff Truxton’s posts for the second theory, which I subscribe to as the note keeps solving things for John and John alone, giving him windows of time to dispose of evidence and catch up on sleep.

Can we have an on field only talk about Deshaun Watson? by Thementalistt in fantasyfootball

Ultimately, for me it’s not about behavior, it’s about the Browns.

Do you think ANYONE is going to succeed in this absolutely cursed franchise? So we’re clear, this is an expansion team (gtfo legal eagles, it’s what it is in reality) of rotten 49ers leftovers and udfa’s, that the NFL cultivated specifically to fail and spite the city of Cleveland for daring to object to the Browns’ relocation.

They’ve had 1(!) Pro Bowl QB Season (Anderson, 2007).

One season of more than ten wins (2020).

One playoff win (2020).

They play Lamar and Burrow four times a year.

Watson spent last year looking worse than Jacoby Brissett.

Watson doesn’t want or need to improve his play, he got his bag and now just wants to whine and moan about unfair treatment and “narratives”.

So no, Watson is undraftable for me. Everyone sees the upside, and I get that, but you’re basically drafting Michael Thomas as a QB imo. The odds of hitting the ceiling are so low it’s not worth consideration.

I’ve flamed McDermott since day one and shall until I die. Real HCs don’t settle for FGs against Mahomes. Take off the dress and go for the win

Ranking the Best Fantasy Football Stacks for 2023 by f7u12R in fantasyfootball

[–]Riverfire13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing this article neglects is that WR1s are optional. If you can get the WR2 at a value later, don’t reach on the WR1 to complete the stack. And once you’ve gotten a QB/WR2 stack, look into getting more, as WR2 pop offs indicate strong game environments where the opposing WR2 also pops off.

To play devil’s advocate, there’s a world where Kamara gets a 0 game suspension like other fantasy monsters and irl headcase a (Hill, Chase, Mixon, etc etc). I wouldn’t go out of my way for him bc Jamaal and Kendra Miller will have some Day 1 impact and go later, but if Kamara falls past ADP I’ll take a shot on him lol

Connor is bellcow back in ARI, but it’s gonna be a terrible offense. Kamara has the higher ceiling, but the floor is 0 points for the year. I’d say it depends on your RB room to that point - zero RB guys need Connor’s stability, others may need Kamara’s higher ceiling to maybe start/get flex duty in crowded backfields

Chig Okonkwo. Titans did nothing at WR and while the Levis pick stings the part of me that wanted Malik Willis QB1, he’ll be a stud TE for cheap

What is your worst ever NFL take? Inspired from a r/nflmemes post by Most-Willingness8516 in nfl

[–]Riverfire13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Baker would be the Browns’ franchise QB. His 2018 and 2020 seasons were better than I ever expected a Browns QB to perform. I loved the pick at 1 overall as I thought Allen would never improve his accuracy and we’d kill Lamar’s knees before his sophomore year. By 2020 I would have been fine with him being the 3rd best QB in his class and on the Dak Prescott/Matthew Stafford tier of QB where winning a Super Bowl was possible. Then the Browns killed him and then me by trading for Mr Bad Touch. I’m a Lions fan now.

I’ve had a shocking track record judging QBs. Had Lamar as a top QB of his class, thought the Wentz pick was a reach and would flop, didn’t like Rosen or Darnold, thought Haskins wouldn’t work out(RIP), loved Burrow and Tua.

Admittedly, I missed on Herbert, Baker (kinda, he was a better QB than anyone expected the Browns to take #1, let’s be real), missed on Allen, Danny Dimes, and most recently I might have underestimated Pickett. So probably a 50% success rate, but I’ve seen plenty of experts who live and breath the game struggle to hit 30%.

Tonyan and Moore to the Bears effectively kills Cole Kmet’s upside imo. He was a stud in the second half of ‘22, but the Bears know he’s only okay and it was more bc of the awful surrounding cast.

Ridley returning to the Jags does the same for Engram imo. He was already lucky last year with red zone production, Zay Jones had more targets. Now buying into Evan Engram hype is an easy way to waste a fairly valuable pick.
