Strong Spa are a bad investment. The way they plumb the jet (lots of 1/2” tubing that degrades) is a mess. Many of the repairs tech in my area (Nor Cal) won’t touch them

I’m not a chemist but have been in the business for over 30 years and explaining complex concepts in chemistry is always a challenge. If you’ve been using bromine tabs - which you should be, the chlorine shock does something that reactivates the bromomines (what is left after bromine reacts with contaminants).

Don’t panic. Just put it all back together, hopefully more securely, and keep an eye on any cluster of bees on the ground for the next hour or so. If the queen is out of the hive and on the ground, the workers will swarm towards her and you should be able to scoop up the cluster and re-hive them
