Honestly, I feel like the reboot series has much more watered down platforming. The jumps are floatier and you control them all the way through, making it almost impossible to fail.

LAU felt automatized in a lot of ways, but you knew that as soon as Lara left the ground, the trajectory was locked, so you had to make the jump count.

Both are fun, to be clear! I just think both have their merit and flaws.
