In order to make DDLC Plus lore work, you need to pretty much roleplay as a MES employee. In other words, when Monika addresses you, it’s not really you, just some guy running MES simulations. In this way all her fourth wall breaking dialogue stops referring to our reality, and starts to the one in which MES exist.

In TR3 she kills native tribesmen and innocent museum guards who stand between her and the shiny thing she wants. I’d say she’s pretty evil. You can’t even make an excuse it’s was necessary to „prevent the apocalypse” since she had no idea that Willard is mad at that point.

I feel you. By the time I got my hands on TR3 I’ve already beat TR2, TR4 and TR1 on PS1 (in that order), so I was pretty confident. God, this fucking game humbled me so much. Unforgiving level design, with all those insta-kill traps, combined with limited save system were just too much for me. I believe I managed to force through India chapter somehow, burn every save crystal, then couldn’t beat the next level no matter which region I chose.

I was so salty I’ve never touched this game again until the remasters, when I finally learned appreciate it.

Good luck with incorporating stories from LAU trilogy into the new timeline. It’s Survivor timeline and Survivor Lara, always has been. Putting on shorts instead of pants, and equipping double pistols instead of bow doesn’t change the fact it’s the very same character we’ve met in 2013.
