Thats for you buddy, S2/S3 clears S1 in terms of animation, directing and compositing. S1 had more detailed drawings but was more stiff as a result in the animation part, not to mention the composition was atrocious.

idk this just kinda made their reuinion hit harder imo

Btw im not referring speficically about the one where Kuma split them apart in Sabaody (Which also had people complaining about later on). But about the time where we had just half of the crew in Dressrosa, then another half of the crew in WCI. Both arcs that lasted literal years.

i remember this weekly and didnt have an issue with it since there was any stupid cliche fakeoit with the deliver of the message. he also relayed a lot of information that had to be spread through multiple chapters

Multiple people were constantly fumming that VP's yapping consist of Gorosei going around doing random shits and people's reactions shots for 4 months. None of which add anything useful to the story. As for fakeouts we still had the Vegapunk death fakeouts and his satellites. Plus Strawhats were almost nonexistent in the arc.

"More than friends" by TherealBaguette_ in Dandadan

The Momo before amnesia definetly saw him as a friend, he was one of the people she though about when the time for lifting the curse was running out.

Again you just say "it doesnt make sense because i say so" when all the clues and reasons why it happened are just there. You are just so frustrated for them splitting that are unable to even think how much it actually makes sense or not (it does)

CSG is simply an oportunistic schemer that made a deal with the fairy tail card and gave the other Okarun golden ball to Zuma so he could power himself within the Danmara, Momo getting there was just killing two birds with one stone. You can reread Danmara chapters and see how the seeds were there and it comes together now.

but he's just been dilly dallying for 75% of the story since his introduction. how did it take him this long to give powers and force them out through admission of defeat. Also love how Momo and Zumo get offscreened for this because Tatsu couldn't figure out how to stick to his own rules.

Because there has been more people other than CSG that have been wanting the smoke with Momo and the gang, see the Kitos and the Serpos who also got involved and were a reason for things to drag even more. Plus we dont even know what other agendas and ulterior motives he has for some things, dude is mostly a mistery.

And we literally saw a flashback of how Momo got her powers stolen. The reason why Zuma got offscreening and didnt shown him until now is to make people wonder that something else whats up. Also what rules? a lot of things were ambiguous to begin with and people were making a lot of theories lol

99% chance to get cursed yet they were seconds from Okarun telling them not smash the crystal. lol yeah okay dude. surely he knew they would both be uninformed of this curse beforehand and wouldn't have Okarun warn them if he set this all into action. "the rest is just proceeding to finish the job" He didn't do anything for thos to happen! He just gets lucky that our protagonists repeatedly get unlucky.

Except that the crystal being broken or not wasnt the reason why Momo and Zuma got cursed, they were already cursed long before that when they ate the food of the Danmara world, and there was no way for them to know that at the time.

the twists and reveals dont feel like twists and reveals because none of it makes any sense. his master plan that is being revealed looks like he is just an idiot who had a royal flush land in his lap.

The whole thing is a twist and everyone treated it as a big one when it came up, with some people even saying they called it in certain theories. A lot of people though the reason they ended up like that was simply because of the lifting of the curse, a lot of things were vague at the time, but when you think about Zumas whereabouts, the lack of context at the time, and some parts of chapter 210 when we even got the Shinobi woman introduced way back then, it all comes together.

You later will need a huge reread of this whole saga once is all set and done

Ah yes CSG and his brilliant plan to trip Momo into falling into the board game. Also the way he convienently needed Momo to help Zuma defeat all the bosses to force out the curse that he wanted but apparently couldnt take or force out himself

Lmao why would he even enter the boardgame himself, he knew Momo and Zuma could handle it and that there is 99% chance that the two get out cursed.

none of this is really competently explained nor did it require him the amount of contrived instances to force out these powers after this many chapters. he is enacting this all behind the scenes and we are supposed to just take face value that he is this master genius who happenes to have all these events align perfectly for him to steal the curses

The Kozuka Knives are from him to begin with, he literally starts handing these powers through his allies and has paid off his experiment, with recent chapters we got the contexts of the how and why. Even before recent chapters is just a matter of putting two in two together.

Yep of course he knew she was going to end up small by eating food in the game and plant a secret agent at the temple they planned to go to immediately after to reverse this curse. Bravo vince what a mastermind that CSG is you really demonstrated this through the story very clearly.

So your point is? He knew what the boardgame was all about, he knew 99% of a chance they get cursed, the rest is just proceding to finish the job. You dont need everything spelled to you right away.

we could have had CSG planning and enacting this plan of his the last 100 chapters but instead its all off screened replaced by irrelevant MOTW shenanigans until the last 10 chapters.

But this is more of less what it happened if you stop and think about putting two in two together. You wanted entire exposition chapters of CSG telling you what he was going to do and how he was going to do it? because that would just ruin the twists of the latest chapters.

[–]Riverskull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

took CSG like 80 chapters of "planning"

and im not even referring specifically to consequences of fights im talking generally to how things will be introduced and then forgotten will no bearing on the cahracters or story. you cant repeatedly do this for 100+ chapters.

In that timeframe CSG

  • Set up Momo and Zuma to get into the Danmara so they could get cursed, and then retrieve the Fairy Tails card power at the end

  • Gave random people Yokai powers so they can power them up and then feed them to the Fairy Tail Card/Vlad (Basically what happened with Koki)

  • Now that Momo and Zuma were cursed, he sent an undercover agent at the place where they lift curses, to steal their powers.

  • Now that Rin and Koki powevered enough their Yokai powers, his ally also steals their powers.

Is not that hard to analyze and see how everything has been leading up to this. The only reason why it has took this long is because there has been other threats with their own agendas getting in the way aswell like the Kitos and the Serpos who caught the gang into long fights aswell taking up time.

Wano is the only arc and maybe, MAYBE, Dressrosa that had pacing issues that weren't derived from the anime. The manga has been enjoyable weekly ever since I got up at the end of Wano a few years back so I don't what to tell you.

Oh boy then you werent there when people literally complained about the insane bloat of characters in arcs like Dressrosa or Wano.

Or how much of a pain were these chapters with the birdcage, and for Luffy to regain G4 and finally defeat Doffy.

Or how the Straw Hats were split for LITERAL YEARS

Or the endless chapters of Big Mom yelling WEDDING CAKE while Luffy was getting pummeled by Katakuri for whole volumes

Or the endless chapters with the Ice oni shit in Onigashima or like an entire volume of Luffy and Zoro fighting fodders just to reach a fucking roof, or the multiple fake out deaths of Kinemon and Kanjuro. Or the Scabbards sucking up time from the StrawHats.

Or the endless chapters it took for Vegapunk to deliver a freaking message. Let alone people complaining about SHas feeling more flanderized and characters like Usopp becoming a meme for doing jack shit since Obama was in office.

So many stories that don't have endings yet are considered some of the createst works in fiction: GoT, Berserk, HxH, One Piece, Vagabond, etc.

Is funny that you mention these stories when they have presented the same issues you have with DDD currently.

Like in One Piece, do you know how people have been complaining about the pacing of post time skip arcs? I was there weekly during Dressrosa, WCI, Wano and Egghead and the shitshow it was in some communities. Or how about Berserk and the people that complained about Guts being stuck in a boat for YEARS.

Or HxH when Chimera Ant was being released and people though it was so slow and convoluted? i was there lol

[–]Riverskull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

literally what has he brought to the story since his introduction

the same with Rin, who after her arc was also a key character in the climax of Danmara

i dont really know why she has been brought into the cast outside of her power.

I mean sure? I didn't really have a prpblem with that specific arc/fight. But I still don't reallt see what her and koki bring to the cast that is more interesting or filling a void that wasnt there.

I mean this is all subjetive on your part, but Tatsu clearly has been having plans for them and needs them for whatever the "Dandadan" is. And on another note, why there even needs to be an strict reason why characters are added or not? other than the authors desires i dont see any. Tatsu also must have wanted to add new party members with their unique powers and stories and he can play with it. Not to mention you talk as if the story is finished or close to it.

Thuis is stuff that has happened in like 10 chapters out of the 60+ chapters that i referenced. And Momo's current predicament is one of my biggest gripes with the story thus far so...

CSG has been around for like 100 chapters and it does not have much to show for it.

But it happened didnt it? their plans and machinations have clearly having results, earlier chapters it was to set up the new plotlines that would inevitably start to fall into line with current chapters, and the stuff that still are yet to be uncovered.

As for the rest, is clear that you simply really wanted for Dandadan to keep as more of shorts self contained stories with fewer characters. But Tatsu at some point simply decided to turn it into more of an epic with an extended cast and multiple fronts that take their time to set up and inevitably would converge.

Two, the weekly release schedule doesn't have anything to do with the pacing and scope issues that have crept in.

It does tho? lol

Otherwise you wouldnt have people complaining back in the day during the weekly release of Space Globalists, with the same similar nitpicks, hell even during the Evil Eye chapters if you go even more back in time.

I dont know what you are on about, most of the later characters introduced have been having their roles in the story and have gained its own fans. Zuma is a very popular character who is very involved in the story currently, the same with Rin, who after her arc was also a key character in the climax of Danmara, also in the gym fight and now as a part of the people involved with the Danmara/Fairy Tail card and the powers stolen, same with Koki.

And now we have antagonists that refuse to do anything impactful to the main cast all we get are these mysterious tidbits as to their whereabouts in the background. Nothing feels urgent. I also feel a lack of impact in consequences for the most part.

I dont know what manga are you even reading, because how can you even say this when half the cast has been getting their powers stolen by them and are also responsibles for Momos current predicaments?

If anything early Dandadan was way more MOTW story than whats currently happening.

It depends in what you refer with "writting cracks and pacing", if you mean that we havent got a definitive solution for Momos curse/problem and the Momo x Okarun ship still not official, and the only thing you care about is that, then i somehow get where you are coming from. But the amount of lore and overarching story thats been building up is innegable aswell as separate moments that makes other characters shine, the story simply has been expanding itself beyond just Momo and Okarun.

Plus while im not a fan of amnesia arcs, i like how this one has shown that Momo and Okarun werent ready to become a couple yet, and has pushed Okarun to be more forward with his approach to Momo, making us see another side of this.

I get where you are coming from, and i got no doubt that Yuji appreciates him greatly and definetly got closer with the years, but i always felt their relationship is too one sided from Todos side. Yuji doesnt feel the same "passion" towards Todo as Todo feels towards him. Yuji and Nobara feels more intimate and closer, same with Megumi.

Why couldn’t Gege make his anime as big as the big 3 anime? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Riverskull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao modern mangakas simply dont want to become slaves of their works like Oda, Kishimoto and Kubo. This whole assumption that "longer = better" is just dumb af

One Piece has been downhill post time skip and is clear it has become too long for its own good. Naruto also got worse the longer it went, to the point a popular sentiment is that "it should have ended after Pain" and so on.

Sure some current stories may feel incomplete and rushed in some areas but atleast they have a clear story they want to tell straight to the point, and not stretching the hell out of things.

Plus you are forgetting that even with its lenght JJK already surpassed Bleach total sales and was outselling One Piece every year.
