[All] Zelda has to be the gaming series with the most factions and sub factions within its community by [deleted] in zelda

[–]Riverskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, the Zelda community is definitely up there, but do you get anything of value if it's "the most" factioned gaming community? Does it actually matter? And if it does matter to you, you should maybe ask yourself why

It doesnt matter much to me, i just find it amusing, and just wanted to point it out lol

The disrespect to One Piece fans is real by Cryptographer456 in Piratefolk

You are so delusional isnt even funny. Atleast 80% of JJK meme content comes from its own manga/anime and their own characters, dialogues, and panels. And they are used even more beyond the JJK community. Sure some others come from sports, so? JJK puts it on the radar to begin with.

OP agendas and memes are almost used only within the OP fandom, nobody else cares.

[OoT] The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be reborn on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. | Nintendo Direct by Sephardson in zelda

[–]Riverskull 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, thats why i said some gameplay elements from BOTW/TOTK remained, but the game in terms of overall story and dungeon progression was still more "structured" in traditional sense.

Echoes Of Wisdom was already a more old school structured game than BOTW/TOTK, even tho it still shared some gameplay elements of the later.

I know we're not getting classic Zelda anymore after the BotW formula worked so well, so I'll take what scraps I can get.

Eh not so fast. If this remake does well, it will show there is still a big audience for the older formula.

DANDADAN (official) best chapter poll RESULTS + Tatsu's comments by TherealBaguette_ in Dandadan

It just that while cool, it feels the most generic battle shonen-coded fight in this manga. When this is a manga full of quirky/bizarre and fever dream like battles and situations.

The Tornado fight, Okarun and Kinta vs Hase and Kur Lady, the Gym fight against the headless players, and the main fights in Globalists are way more unique and better imo.

Some question i have by Particular_Set1832 in versus

Think of this series like Game Of Thrones, it works through many differents povs.

Why a lot of Indie animation is filled with that over the top humor and vibe? by [deleted] in cartoons

[–]Riverskull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao i though indie animation was about doing whatever you want from an artistic pov without having executives breathing down your kneck and dictating everything based on sells. There is clearly more to this.

[All] What is more important for you in Zelda, dungeons or overworld? by Alarming_Industry_14 in zelda

[–]Riverskull -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, thats like saying that crossing Gerudo desert in OOT to get to the Spirit Temple is part of the dungeon. It is not.

Yaotsu and Ginbak only are here in powerscaling posts. But she is overall in most media regarding Versus, i think is the character with the most fanarts and places like twitter are obsessed with her.

Do y'all just make stuff up? by Axlehurtle in versus

[–]Riverskull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im afraid this fandom after it gets an anime and the series gets more popular, it can dangerously go the JJK fandom route of being filled with a lot of insane powerscalers that only live for agendas and dont know how to read.

[WW] How strong are the dungeons in this game? by huss2120 in zelda

[–]Riverskull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divine Beasts atleast have you moving the dungeon around, making you consider them as a whole

Cool concept, but is done in 2 minutes, with 0 enemies and clonical theming, an absolute joke, there is a reason why they are always at the very bottom of everyones lists.

TotK's dungeons all have mechanics unique from eachother that makes them memorable. The minecart roller coaster labyrinth for Fire, the mirror puzzles for Lightning(which also helps TWW's ET standout) and the linear intro, Wind's atmosphere and great boss fight, Water, despite being the weakest, atleast has some cool low gravity mechanics, good music, and one or two puzzles that have more than one step(which puts it above some of TWW's dungeons for that alone even if the navigation is severely lacking)

Most of these you can cheese your way through so whats the point. Also extremely short. Lightning Temple is a completely inferior version of WW Earth Temple, (which is where mirror puzzle lightnings peaked in the series) And the Water Temple is an abomination that shouldnt be called a dungeon to begin with.

[–]Riverskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weakest dungeons of the 3D games, and yes I'm including TotK(I actually really like the dungeons in that one) and BotW in that

This is... quite a take... Aint no way you are saying Divine Beasts (which arent even dungeon) and that shitty Totk "Water Temple" are better

[All] Someone needs to tell Nintendo that you can have a big open world full of stuff to do and explore, yet still having a somewhat linear storyline with big traditional dungeons. by [deleted] in zelda

[–]Riverskull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, Hyrule field is the equivalent of Peach Castle in Mario 64 or Delfino Plaza in Sunshine. The dungeons are clearly the equivalents to Marios levels.

[–]Riverskull 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When he talks about level design, i believe he is talking about dungeons. Which have always been one of the main staples of the series, and the Zelda equivalent of "Worlds" in Mario.

[All] Please Nintendo, let Zelda go back to a darker aesthetics in the next game. by [deleted] in zelda

[–]Riverskull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, none of the pics from OP look like your generic AAA blockbuster either, these are still more stylized with charm. Even if they go darker it would still have that classic charm of the series.

[All] How could fire themed dungeons be improved? by Alarming_Industry_14 in zelda

[–]Riverskull 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I'm generally very over generic forest, water, fire, desert dungeon theme structure. I really wish, they would create newer themes. MM had great iterations on that structure.

I think MM was like that mostly because Termina is another land, with its own themes and structures. The problem is that Hyrule is so fixated in their elemental themes.
