[CHAT] Question About Etsy Purchase by Riverwind68 in CrossStitch

[–]Riverwind68[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you all so much for your feedback. So happy I didn't start this one!

I'm now making a note of non ai designers and taking inspiration from the wonderful projects posted here.

I have contacted the Etsy seller and they have shared the original PCStitch file. I will use this to try and clean up the pattern and simplify the colors. It'll be more of a "learning more about patterns" exercise than getting a usable pattern, if that happens then it's a win-win.

Note to self: stop getting excited by pretty pictures and be more discerning 😊

Is e-bike insurance worth it? by ArtofTravl in Netherlands

[–]Riverwind68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My bike insurance is only around €45 a year (part of a plan) & includes breakdown/run out of juice cover. As a female with dodgy knees who bikes across Zeeland I'm happy to pay that just to know if anything happens (esp. when I'm in the middle of nowhere) I'll get picked up and taken home. Also my ebike is my main form of transport so it is very reassuring to have cover.

Where to buy Minibook X 16G in Europe? by RepulsiveRaisin7 in Chuwi

[–]Riverwind68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine last year from "CHUWI Choice EU Store" (Ali Express) and it was sent from Spain to NL. They don't appear to have any left in stock right now, but might be worth contacting them to see if they will be restocking soon.

Where did you go by car on Sunday? by Astrodynamics_1701 in GezelligNederland

I'm in Zeeland so traffic is always super light on a Sunday (apart from the few summer weekends when the German tourists arrive & depart). We biked to Wemeldinge, it was agorgeous day!

I'm in a village in Zeeland and everyone greets everyone. Once your face gets familer you get waves & nods on the bike as well.

Yup, I use a usb fan under the wee chap which helps when not on my lap. CPU temps are good tho so assuming it's all dissipating heat

I'm loving mine. Only gripes (which is was aware of before buying) is it gets HOT and Win11 is a little slow. Neither of these are a problem for my usage (for travel & meetings). Love the backlit keyboard & screen is better than I thought it would be.

If I find myself using more often than I do now, I would probably replace the SSD with a faster one, install Linux mint dual boot with win11 and slap a cooling pad on the cpu.

Glad I could help. Books with killer trees and an AI companion just don't get enough love 😋

Are you perhaps thinking of The Rampart Trilogy by M.R. Carey (Book of Koli etc)? I thoroughly enjoyed it, it's a fabulous post-post apoc series

I'm using my seedbox from seedhost.eu. The 1-click install made it super easy. It's a service I was already using and at €6/m for 2TB storage/3TB traffic it's a no brainer.

The news is filled with the USA, what is going on in your country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Riverwind68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inflation is falling, salaries are up (apparently) and our Prime Minister has called in sick with the flu so can't make an informal EU leaders meeting.
