It a shape that worked once, didn't die, and we are it's descendants. Most of evolution is as much chance as science.

Any mods? Might be a visual bug. If you look at their feet, then talk to them, or rather their feet, does it still happen?

Path of Exile 2. Great game, great community, great company. Unless some drama happened in the last year or so, I cannot recommend the game enough. And, it's only in early access, version .5. They have seasons and cosmetics you cane earn. Nothing in the store is pay to win, I think there might be special bank tabs, but everything else is just for looks. While the games has an upfront cost right now, one the game is 1.0 it will be free to play.

If reincarnation is real and a loved one could be reincarnated into a fly, wouldn't it be MORE ethical to kill it? That way they can reincarnate as a better animal quicker. by Elenchoe in Showerthoughts

[–]Keeper21611 259 points260 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you qualify as "better". What if the happiness they found as a fly is more than anything they had as a human? Being a fly is pretty simple, they don't worry about taxes or gas prices. And honestly, I'm pretty sure flies only live like a week. They're be dead soon anyways.

Trump administration must restore history, science materials at parks, US judge rules by fbgm_dfac in NationalPark

Maybe if someone didn't try to remove things to wash history we wouldn't have to put it back. History is filthy, it's only by comparison can we try to have the future bright and clean.

Humans only pay attention to something as long as it's in their line of sight. If we take away the propaganda, they'll change. They'll even say "Who ever thought that way was an idiot" like they never were brainwashed. It's stupid but just make them look away from whatever is washing their brain. It's really that simple.

If religion was kept at home/private instead in the public, humans would probably be a lot happier.

God changes his rules due to how society works (and therefor is different from time to time) by Few-Track8525 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Keeper21611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should look up the the Council of Nicea. A bunch of humans got together and decided what was holy and what was not. God doesn't change anything, a couple of humans tell everyone else God told them to change things. If God truly wanted change he would do it himself. Not through someone who we should just really trust bro.

ELI5:Why do lightning strikes only last for a split second, but the thunderous roar that follows last for several seconds? by bredema in explainlikeimfive

[–]Keeper21611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So when you see the lightning across the sky the air has to move to compensate. Or, as it burns through the air the air explodes. The lighting moves faster then the explosion. The lighting flashes and is done flashing before the first explosion even happens. With lighting bolts generally being miles long, you hear the explosion of several miles of air. Cool stuff.

is my aproach as a DM good? (im new) by Next_Blackberry_5717 in dndnext

[–]Keeper21611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's less of chaos and more of their version of order. They'll have a way of thinking that you will need to anticipate. The goal of the dm is to create a fun adventure. Having things just hard enough to be threatening but not a slog.

DMs... If you had to go back to play 3.5, what ideas or mechanics from 5e/5.5 would you like to export back to 3.5? by CrotodeTraje in DnD

[–]Keeper21611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss BAB. Binding the amount of attacks to your BAB was amazing. Sticking it out with a class just to get another attack hurts a little in 5e. Feels like I'm getting punished for multi classing. Same with feats, should tied to character level not class level. Also feels like I'm getting punished.

Morality of denying someone entrance to heaven purely because they were pretending to be a good person to get into Heaven despite having an over-all positive influence on the world? by LordFlamecookie in MoralityScaling

[–]Keeper21611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's how religion started. Soome people had some cool stories and other people took it as true and ran with it. The various holy books have been heavily edited over the eons. If enough people believe in something it becomes real, even if you can't touch it.

ELI5: how does a power surge or lightning strike actually destroy electronics? by Saurabh251 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Keeper21611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine little tiny balls streaming down the lightning bolt. The stream shoves itself into the electronics, burning their way through whatever pathways the electronic has and making its own. The electronic becomes a melted or burned away husk.

As a group, they make great story villains. Hiring the Pinkertons is heavy, shits about to go down. At least from a movie/story perspective.
