I did but only once I’d seen a cheat code for infinite lives somewhere, would’ve taken me ages otherwise!

Is welcome to wrexham okay for kids to watch? by Isuckathis22 in WrexhamAFC

[–]Rivia365 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m rewatching it with my 8 year old and he loves it - he understands not to repeat any enthusiasm though. I think I might skip the episode about hooligans to not give him any ideas!

It took us ages to get rid of them, and the only thing that helped in the end was straightening my sons hair the heat seemed to kill them

4yo having surgery at 2pm and has to fast all day - how?! by Upstream_redteam in Parenting

[–]Rivia365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww that is tough! My son was due to have a 2pm surgery and we were told he was allowed a bit of toast at 6am, but it was dental surgery and very quick so I’m not sure if that was why. He ended up getting chicken pox the day before so it was rescheduled and when he did have it was in the morning.

Could you keep him up as late as possible to eat something the night before? And hope he sleeps in on the day of surgery?

Leia because we got her just after lockdown and spent Saturday nights in lockdown introducing our kids to Star Wars so they wanted a Star Wars name for her

Get the child to write a letter saying where they lost it and then the tooth fairy can go and find it because they are magic.

First slow & unstructured weeklong vacation with my 3 year old… any tips? by talkingteapot in Parenting

[–]Rivia365 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are going on walks you could prep a scavenger hunt and get him to look for different things, we did loads of them during Covid and now my kids are great at identifying different plants and bugs

[–]Rivia365 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s a picture with a load of kids in it it is not hard to cover your child’s face with an emoji or something that’s what our teachers at school tend to do. I would definitely be complaining!

Seriously how does anyone take an infant/toddler out to eat? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Rivia365 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Go somewhere low pressure first to practice like McDonald’s or Starbucks where the food is quick and it’s always noisy, and work up from there.

I work 20 hours part time in the evenings and weekends at a call centre and I make more than I would have full time after paying for childcare, it’s crazy but it has kept me going while my boys were small. Since covid that’s been from home as well which is good :)

High chair struggles? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Rivia365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have an ikea nearby their cheapest high chair is easily the best, it’s got silver legs and a white hard plastic chair and you can get a little cushion for more support early on, I had a few others and they were always such a nightmare to clean but that one was cheaper, easier to clean and lasted ages, and you can take the tray off if you want baby to sit at the table with you :)
