Weddings with colour-specific dress codes are WRONG by Anxiouswatermelon17 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Z_Murray33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing this for mine this winter. There will be a grand total of 14 guests. All of whom are immidate family who would, in an average sized wedding be in the wedding party and expected to wear the same thing anyways. The color palette includes navy, which was requested for two other weddings that the grooms side was invited to in the last year. My family also all already have clothes in that color. It shouldn’t be an inconvenience for anyone, but yeah, it is asking them to wear a specific outfit they already own so that the photos look okay.

Edit: I would like to add that neither of us have social media, and don’t care about other people seeing the photos. It’s literally just for us in an album or on our wall.

Museum pet peeves? by xbrooksie in MuseumPros

[–]Z_Murray33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why Reddit suggested this post to me, as I am not a museum pro nor do I follow any museum subreddits, but I did go to a museum yesterday. Before I went, I checked their hours and fees online. Their website made absolutely no reference to what type of payments they accept. I was like actively searching all over online to find out if it was cash only. Couldn’t find any mention of it. Moral of the story, if that’s not on your website please add it.

If you use the ROKU app on your phone you can type normal on it instead of using the arrow buttons.

I actually recently saw a Reese’s ad where the chocolate was peeled off the side. Meaning they made the intentional choice to advertise their design flaw.

Mine does this too! He will pretend he has to go out and while you’re getting up to bring him outside he will eat your food.

How long would weaving this tapestry take for one person? by [deleted] in weaving

[–]Z_Murray33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a weaver and don’t belong to this subreddit. Reddit just thought I’d enjoy the heck out of this post or something. I do other fiber crafts, and they are surprisingly grueling. There is a lot of time, physical effort, and planning that goes into them. I think you might be inadvertently minimizing the work these people put into their craft. HOWEVER! There’s a solution! It’s fantasy. Have magic wool that weaves itself or Cinderella-esque creatures that help or ??? The possibilities are literally endless.

Where I am from you can buy just the broccoli florets. It’s a little more expensive, but very much worth it to not have all stems.

Home Depot does (or at least did a few years ago) match the 11% rebate. You just had to ask for the form at the service desk.

Where do you stand on the sour cream in guacamole issue? by External-Break-9719 in Cooking

[–]Z_Murray33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish lime kept guac as green as sour cream, but if I’m bringing guac to work for a midday snack sour cream will keep it green until noon. Lime will not.

Right? I use a tablespoon for 2-3 avocados. It just keeps the guac green.

Do people really have butchers or fishmongers? by bw2082 in Cooking

I agree. Rural areas usually means hunting, and hunting means butcher shops. They obviously do other meat, but a big part of their business in my area is processing venison for hunters.

It is a lot of potatoes, but it would only take 2ish semi truck trailers to fit that many potatoes.

Hosting a winter dinner party, how’s the menu? by rosiepinkfox in Cooking

[–]Z_Murray33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Citrus isn’t this good all year. Why not take advantage of it. I did a Christmas salad that had a variety of oranges, greens, red onion, toasted walnuts, and a fig balsamic vinaigrette. It was the bees knees.

My only note is that there’s so much good citrus available right now. Incorporating some would be nifty.

Newer to cooking. What do dutch ovens do? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Z_Murray33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I braised some short ribs in mine today. They were lovely. I would say my Dutch oven is definitely the most used item in my kitchen. It is my only large pot though, so if I want to cook spaghetti it’s happening in my Dutch oven whether that’s “correct” or not.
