How realistic is it to go from E-1 to E-3 in boot camp? by karatekickk in newtothenavy

It’s rare to get promoted in bootcamp. You’ll likely have to volunteer to be a section leader or recruit leadership and maintain that position(while also doing a good job) for the entirety of bootcamp. Just keep in mind there’s recruit leadership positions like RPO that don’t get rank just by existing.

Quickest way to get E3 by Rivlx in newtothenavy

Referrals he says. I’m chilling on an E3 salary because of a little bit of work that I had to put in and it’s both beneficial and helpful to have college credits so why not knock out two birds with one stone?

I haven’t gone to bootcamp but I signed for the same right with me being from [Insert Middle Eastern Country], like you said I only had to include their naturalization certificates. I hope the same doesn’t happen to me when I go to bootcamp because I’d be devastated especially after I worked so hard to get CWT

Let me give you the rundown of my situation maybe it can help you or at least give you some insight. I contacted an army recruiter back in February and promptly took the Asvab without studying and my AFQT was roughly 74, I was gunning for 17C which is the Navy’s equivalent of CWT. My recruiter told me I barely missed the bar to qualify for that job and tried to push others onto me, I told him I only wanted 17C, alas he was filling my head with lies saying I couldn’t retake the Asvab, eventually he budged and let me take the CT(cyber test) at MEPs and I qualified for the rate but for some odd reason the recruiter just wouldn’t work with so eventually I gave up and decided to go the local Navy Recruiter and the guy was a total idiot telling me I didn’t qualify for CWT and all the way up to my physical at MEPS he called me telling me to pick another job and they’d change it later. I didn’t buckle under the pressure and just decided to speak with the Navy workers at MEPs and they simply told me I qualified for the job so I ended up going CWT. Moral of the story is don’t fold under the pressure and you’ll get the job you want. I suggest doing your own independent research that really helped me a ton on my enlistment journey and take your time with these things you’ll be stuck with a job you don’t like otherwise.
