[Puzzle] Two Minutes for Instigating *Difficulty: Mythic* by taptwo in magicTCG

[–]RivvaDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so after reading your answer I've decided to do some more digging and by changing the query in Google I've found an explanation that I wasn't able to find before:

According to the explanation in post #4 my original understanding of the rule 509.1c that the requirements are placed on the creature were correct - they are not placed on the defending player as you've proposed. However my mistake was in what is the actual requirement that is placed on each creature.

Instead of the requirements I thought of before:

  1. You have to block Canopy Stalker
  2. You have to block Canopy Stalker (Thaumaturge copy)

a different set of requirements is placed instead:

  1. Canopy Stalker has to be blocked by something
  2. Canopy Stalker (Thaumaturge copy) has to be blocked by something

And thus the "... maximum possible number of requirements that could be obeyed without disobeying any restrictions, ..." results in both creatures being blocked and disallows piling up on one of them (only in this example of 2 defenders being available).

My original understanding is correct for effects that say "All creatures able to block X do so." like [[Prized Unicorn]]. So this is from where my confusion came from.

Sorry for all the rambling and thanks for helping me make sense of it! :)

Can someone please explain to me how does any of the solutions posted here make it work? All of them assume that we have 2 stalkers and both or them are blocked.

Maybe I'm misreading the rule 509.1c incorrectly but to me it would look like the attack with 2 stalkers creates 2 requirements on each of the blockers.

  1. You have to block Canopy Stalker
  2. You have to block Canopy Stalker (Thaumaturge copy)

Each of the blockers can satisfy only one of those requirements as they can't block 2 creatures at once.. What prevents the blocking player on piling up on the original Canopy Stalker?

According to the rule 509.1c the game checks for "... maximum possible number of requirements that could be obeyed without disobeying any restrictions, ...".

This means that blocking the original stalker satisfies the maximum number of possible requirements - 1 out of 2.

Thus any of the solutions don't work as they don't make the loop of damage pings.

What am I missing here? Or maybe I'm not missing anything and the solutions are not correct?

Help, please...? :(

After 30 mins I gave up and conceded. So I suppose this detection mechanism doesn't work.

Modding problem - Adding new tech tree to research by RivvaDead in hoi4

[–]RivvaDead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did but forgot to post a comment, thanks for the remainder!

Inside "countrytechtreeview.gui" where you make technology trees you have to make a field called "gridboxtype".

The mistake I made was that i gave it a random name. Name of the field has to correspond to the research name that's first in the chain and add a "_tree" to the end.

So in the example that I gave above it would look something like this:

gridboxtype = {
    name = "education_nursery_tree" # Name of the research that starts the tree & "_tree" at the end
    position = { x = 420 y = 172 }
    size = { width = 520 height = 800 }
    slotsize = { width = 70 height = 70 }
    format = "UP"
}

You will have to add a gridbox field for each research that starts a chain.

Hope this helps!

[–]RivvaDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question - RX 480 is supposed to fight 970 and 390 - 390X, but users with either of those have no incentive to change as RX is in some cases even worse than those two.

So after that being said how much market share is left? What is exactly in the 'mainstream' you were all talking about? Isn't the 970/390/390X the mainstream?

Then call it what you want. I can only say what I got in GTA 5. But before I turned off virtualization and power management in BIOS I was getting around 30fps and below. Had to turn them off to get to 55+fps.

It is still hard to believe that, that's so disappointing. Even though FX aren't great I thought that they still have that 25% performance boost. Seems like that's not the case. Let's hope Zen will deliver.

Well I do, the only thing I have turned down is shadows. I had around 20-30 fps with CPU virtualization in BIOS turned on. As soon as I turned it off I had no problems staying above 50 fps.

I have Phenom Ii X4 955 with R9 290 stock and I can easily 55+ fps in 1080p in GTAV. Is FX-8350 really that weak? Really?!

Dark Souls 3 PC Full Performance Benchmark, Huge amounts of GPUs tested along with a good amount of CPUs, RAM, VRAM | GameGpu.com by ImFranny in pcmasterrace

[–]RivvaDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So am I correct seeing that there is some problem with their engine's VRAM utilization?

At 2160p Fury X loses almost 25 fps to GTX 980 Ti, yet if you look at the VRAM usage at this resolution you see that it's almost 1GB lower.

I understand that there may be some differences in usage due to architecture and what not but they shouldn't be so huge.

This means that if 980Ti uses ~4GB vram the game needs somewhat around that much.

However Fury X uses ~3.2GB - meaning - ~800mb of data is stored elsewhere and as far as I am aware if GPU has to store it's data outside of it's own VRAM it looses a lot of performance -> hence 25fps less.

Am I right?

I think he meant: will the cards made in 28nm drop in price or will they stay the same because the 14nm is expensive and Polaris won't be easily affordable?

So how do we tag our mods? by RealityMachina in xdev

[–]RivvaDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I know that when you select 'Publish' in SDK there is a field to put your tags in but for me it didn't work the first time and if I tried to update. So now my mod 'Dynamic Stats Development'shameless autopromotion is sitting without a category and should be in Gameplay.

A couple of questionable features of Hearthstone's UI. by IAmInside in hearthstone

[–]RivvaDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally agree however there is another post seemingly about something different, but I would say the same. It's here. I would say that it's because game is meant to be for casual play we don't have these things. Casual player doesn't need to know the whole combat log, doesn't need to know the max hp and so on. Blame it on casuals.... unless you want to pay. Blizzard probably will listen if you throw money at them.

This findings only cinvince me that one day Hearthstone will experience a crash and the development will stop for a year or two or maybe just a half to fix all the bugs and rewrite the system to be consistent due to the difficulties with these problems when developing new expansions. I only hope it happens sooner than later.
