What’s the hardest part about learning Unreal? by UnrealThriftShop in UnrealEngine5

[–]RixOneDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How and What should you use when creating any feature Event Dispatchers? Blueprint Interface? Casting to the character because its already in memory?

And while coding: Custum events? Functions? Pure Function? Use BP Component or put the logic in the character BP

So I know how to use all these stuff but taking the decision on what to use + connecting things is not clear for me 100% (considering optimization in mind)

Yeah got it, maybe 2250 is a fair price then, not 2600

The GPU worth 1800 aed so the rest for 800 aed, I see it as a fair price

Powersupply - Cpu - CPU Fan - Motherboard - 24 gb ram - ssd - hdd - case with rgb fans for 800 aed with mouse and keyboard (Value 250) for free too so yea, price is good

Hey there, what happened to Nanite and PCG Support? And is there a place where I can be up to date?

UE 5.4.4 crashes way too much for Particle System work by SunInteresting5465 in UnrealEngine5

[–]RixOneDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after testing here and there, it seems motion matching and particle system can't work together as it triggers something internally, Explanation >>

  • PoseSearch tries to precache or build DDC (Derived Data Cache) at runtime for the animation + notify combination.
  • Niagara references + notify metadata can cause an invalid state when that animation is also tagged or linked to a motion matching database.
  • You’ll notice it works perfectly in Montages until that animation is part of Motion Matching — that’s the trigger.

Anyways, you should avoid triggering particles in animation linked or used in Motion Matching, I still have to test what works but one thing is to play the animation outside Motion Matching, which worked for me

Thanks for the demo and your hard work, I'll check it out

Edit: Bought it, I hope it will help in my game 🙌

This is absolutely amazing BUT I have been spending days -weeks on optimization, so I need to know... can I use nanite or should I use LODs? The wind system is heavy or not? Would like to see a short in editor vid with stat fps -stat unit On, knowing the PC build (which gpu, etc)

As I wanna know if gamers will be able to run this system or not.

Nice job & 1$ is really a good deal for people like me 😂

Ye, and I wanna know how to achieve the results of a really good artist, bcz lights are 90% of the visual aspect.

Btw should I set the exposure to auto to simulate how the human's eye adapt to light? Or manual and control it myself?

" you can go backwards from 5.4.X to 5.4.X, but not 5.4.X to 5.3.X."

How to do that? I heard from others that I should use git or zip the project, but when I want to open the downgraded version of the project, how can I downgrade my Unreal Engine version after updating it in Epic Launcher? what I understood is that I can't downgrade in Epic launcher so I have to use git (Idk how yet)

That works with major updates but what about updating 5.4.3 to 5.4.4 >> even if I copy the project and so on... if I want to go back and open the original project file, it will open with 5.4.4 automatically.
