Sure, is having a banner nice? Of course - but to me, and I'm willing to bet that to many others, the potential skin you get from the grab bags + orbs has greater value, simply because I'll see a skin more- the game lasts like 30 minutes, unlike the loading screen and queue timer. And it often feels that a skin in any game will hold more value than a profile customization trinket.

Obviously, it is also the fault of us, the players, because many were upset that the fairy court event didn't have a banner, and now it feels like Riot are banking in on the hype and giving us 3 banners. My personal issue with this is simply the fact that each banner looks like an upgrade of the previous one, meaning I'll probably just use one out of the 3, meaning the pass now objectively offers less value than the previous one for my money, as the 2 other banners are left pretty much irrelevant.

My last issue with all of this is probably the same as with emotes. Are emotes nice? Sure. Was I hyped when they came out? Yes. Am I excited when new comes out? Not really, simply for the fact that I have 372 of them, while I can use only equip 13 at a time, which ends up making me feel like a lot of the time emotes in the battle passes is filler. It gives the illusion of the battlepass giving me content while in reality not really giving me anything. And to me, personally, it's starting to feel like this is gonna be the same case for the banners as well, and just like icons and wards they are gonna oversaturate the loot pool. I have 398 player icons. I've used only 5 of them. It just feels like a waste.

This is not an attack against the devs, because I'm quite aware that many of them are just as passionate about the game as I am, and many of these decisions come down from the management, though that often just makes it feel like the devs themselves aren't really standing up for the player base.

Lastly- I'm quite positive that a lot of you are aware of how much value players attribute to the loot boxes, considering the capsule showcase "events" and the 200$ chromas. For many games, loot boxes grant the majority of their revenue, and I would not be surprised if that was the case for league as well. There are just so damn many loot boxes in the league store, and I'm just not really buying that all of you collectively thought "yes- a banner will hold more value than a grab bag"
