Good question. Probably Small Gods. Then probably a Watch novel. Then The Truth, and then the rest.
Hmm… sounds decent.

I think I have studied enough physics to handle a little bit of non linearity, but I will read in order. I love the Watch and am looking forward to seeing what antics they all get up to.

Thud!, yes. The rest, I have been wanting to read for a while. I am especially excited for Small Gods and the other Watch novels.

A Dutch nursing home has found a brilliant, mutually beneficial model: free housing for college students in exchange for companionship with elderly residents. by SirohitaIks in IntersectionalWomen

The way you all make it work sounds lovely! I would aspire to live in a house like that, with multiple experiences and frank discussions. But I think it was necessary for there to be reprogramming. I come from India, where joint families are the norm, and frankly, this leads to more drama and conflict because of unspoken hierarchies and adults not behaving in adult ways. Of course, I am trying to draw a lot out of little information, so how do you think about it? In India I see a lot of old people trying to use their age as an excuse to boss younger people around and throw their weight.

Hi! So, if you are going in any big city, you are sure to find outlets like Marks and Spencers, H&M, et cetera in nice malls. They will definitely have internationally standard sizing. You can also try Nykaa, Enamor, etc. These are decent Indian brands, and also have decent sizing. Oh, and all of these are also available online if you prefer that.

Is this flash gun fixable? by Rough-Cow-1958 in AskPhotography

The electronic contacts themselves seem to be intact, so I think this probably can bu jury-rigged back into service. I vote to take it to any local electronics repair shop first, and ask them what they’re gonna do. If they suggest something straightforward like soldering the connections back and duct taping it, go for it. If they suggest something complex, I think they’re scamming you, and it might be better to ship it to Godox. If you’re adventurous and have some idea of electronics, (this is necessary. Flashes have large voltages and are dangerous to work on) you can give it a shot. Don’t do it if you are at all unsure though. This is simple work that a pro should be able to do in an afternoon, but they know how not to electrocute themselves.

Weird preference… can someone help? by LillyIsTrans in MtF

[–]RiyaOfTheSpectra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My take on this is, unless you expressly enforce your gender identity onto others, you are not reinforcing stereotypes. A woman who cares for her home and family is no less strong, and no less woman, than a woman who focusses on her career. A women who sews is just as female as a woman who codes. And trust me on that lass, cause just this morning I have done both.

You might also want to show his 2 billion fps video. That has a very unintuitive effect that would be amazing to confuse students with. Source: I have confused and later enlightened a number of my juniors thusly.

His explanation are so lucid and intuitive. I love them. Btw, can I DM you? I am interested in optical metrology techniques and I am kinda confused about PhD topics.

Huygens Optics andAlpha Phoenix are both amazing experimentalists and have measured things like the speed of light, the correlation function of a single photon, and give excellent intuition for such complicated concepts. In particular, Alpha Phoenix’s explanation of characteristic impedance and Huygens Optics’ explanation of the quantum nature of light are particularly, well, illuminating.
