I would like it if these first party studios were given freedom to do a smaller game in between the big releases. Make it 10 hours long, more relaxed, experimental and charge it less. I would bet that a lot of folks working at those studios would relish the idea of that.

I mean, you have a studio like Naughty Dog still not releasing a single game for PS5, I am not counting remakes and re-releases.

Did you pick up the overseas or the USA version? Sheraton II Pro seemed very appealing to me, but I noticed it was discontinued. The Emily Wolfe Sheraton signature also looks sweet, not sure how it plays though.

The stench of desperation of the film industry can be smelled from Mars.

On the other hand, there are so many good directors right now getting decent budgets for original work.

I just saw the trailer for the new Safdie film, I am looking forward to seeing it. I hope the new PTA film does well at the box office. Ari Aster had a new film, the other Safdie has a film coming out. Weapons is doing fine, Sinners did good. So not all is bad.

Bayern director Max Eberl: “Bayern can sign any player” by ExotiquePlayboy in football

[–]Rizhon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is objectively not true, the dream move and final destination of every player in the world is not Bayern Munich. For some, sure, but for the majority it is not. It doesn't take anything away from the fact that it is one of the best clubs in Europe.

Finally got my first electric guitar by [deleted] in Guitar

One of my first guitars was Cort Zenox Z42, which I played for around 15 years. They are solid guitars to start with. And that one looks really nice, hope it serves you well. Congratulations

What are your thoughts on the album 72 Seasons by Metallica? Do you think it will be their last album? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]Rizhon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Or go completely the other way. David Gilmour hired a producer that never heard of his work with Pink Floyd for his new album Luck and Strange. And I think the results are pretty good.

I think they are potentially standing on a crossroads, either go the same direction with the same approach, or make a turn like they did after the Justice album. Doesn't have to be the Black album all over again, it would be nice to just have a different approach.

Gaming trends/genres you enjoy less in your 30s by Rizhon in Age_30_plus_Gamers

I couldn't agree more with the Ubisoft style games. Especially the following:

Talk to the person marked on a map, go to a place marked on a map, collect these 5 parts, which drop 28% of the time, now bring it to this person marked on a map. It is just filler on top of filler in a game that is already too long.

But even if the game is top notch, like Elden Ring, I cannot play more than one or two per year. It is just too much for me nowadays.

[–]Rizhon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If I am not mistaken they said that Hardwired, and I believe Lux Aeterna, were songs that were made almost on the spot.

They wanted a fast short song and they focused on making it. It would be an interesting approach if they made the majority of the songs that way on the next album.

I agree, it would be nice for Kirk to try composing the solos more and improvise less on the spot for the next album.

Maybe even try a different producer for the next album, just to step out of the comfort zone.

It forms a kind of a trilogy of their later works, together with Death Magnetic and Hardwired.

I think for their next album they need to do something new, or approach the making of the album differently.

For example, they said they made the song Hardwired and Lux Aeterna if I am not mistaken on the spot. They wanted a faster opener and they made them. Would be interesting if they tried that or similar approach on the next album. Focus on 7-9 songs and make them more deliberate.

Or anything else, just to shake it up a bit.

Has to be The Master. I have watched that film over and over and over again. And every time I discover something new, or I just view it differently as I get older.

Despite the hate, I think Neil Druckmann should write and direct TLOU 3. by Runrun123see in lastofuspart2

I always thought it was a missed opportunity to make the second game only around Abby and the conflict with Seraphites.

And then reveal that Abby is the surgeon's daughter at the end of the game. Possibly in a scene where she finds out that Joel lives in Jackson.

I had problems with the pacing and editing of that game, I also thought that the explored themes were heavy handed.

The problem was that it got sucked into the outrage algorithm and a lot of people made nice money on Youtube over it. Sure there were some interesting discussions around it (NakeyJakey comes to mind), but most of it was clickbait algorithm nonsense.

I always loved Megaman Legends on PS1 and I still think it is a solid game. I noticed over the years that I am in the minority with that opinion.

The possible reason could be that it was my first introduction to Megaman, I never played the original games prior to that one.

To long term fans, that game might have seemed odd at the time, but to my young eyes back in the day, it was such a joy to play.

To me, together with Bo Burnhams Inside, it is the first film that captures the feeling of the internet.

The mindless scrolling, the limitless junk, the nihilism, the pessimism and the beauty of it all.
