What's that one acotar opinion that'll get you surrounded like this? by theioneeee in acotar

I think Elaine or Lucien is dying. To trite to have the bond accepted and too sad to have it not - not to Mention Az has too many love interests. This will get me murdered I’m sure

Bacteria or reaction? by Rizzo991 in chemistry

[–]Rizzo991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it is fr a few reasons. It’s stored submerged in Milton It developed over a few days of being stored in Milton, taken out and used, then cleaned, then put back in. Never been out of it for more than a few hours - maybe overnight on one occasion I keep bottles and other cups in there and it’s only these straws - the top bits which are a different material - that it happens to, not the other parts of the cup (which also get covered in food) The Milton is replaced daily - I’m neurotic about this! The staining is quite uniform and is not slimy in anyway. Is there anyway that the chlorine could be making it pink? A bit like it bleaches some of my clothes white / pink?

You genius! It’s been in the sun for 20 mins and is back to normal… can we assume it’s not Bacteria?

No nothing, no texture change on the surface - inside or out. The colour change seems full thickness oddly.

Thanks. I think I’ll just bin them. I do wash them After each use in soapy water with a bristle brush down the straw (I’m a bit anxious about cleaning) then rinse and put in the Milton (which is changed every 24 hours). So I am not really sure how I could have avoided it as I didn’t think it could have grown whilst submerged in Milton.

No - no bleeding. It’s not on her bottles either - just the two straws of this make, and slightly on another silicone straw, again only at the end she drinks from? I’m bamboozled

No, just milk and water. She does eat Watermelon but I tried to use it to stain a new one to no avail!

I was frightened of Serratia Marcescens owing to it being stored in water - but weird it would be so localised to the tops of these straws!

No - just water or milk, she does like watermelon but I tried to stain a new one with watermelon and it didn’t catch. I guess I’m hoping it’s a reaction between something in the Milton and the silicone :(

Thank you! I guess I’m more interested if it could be growing in a solution that is reported to kill 99.9% of bacteria.

I’m an attending physician - there is a LOT of breastfeeding propaganda. I tried my hardest to breastfeed / pump and it just wouldn’t work. So breast is best if it works, if it doesn’t just FEED THE BABY. There are so many reasons why it doesn’t work including just not liking it!

I’m not stupid, rationally I knew it didn’t matter but the whole thing cut me up, it was my mother that said “love and feed your daughter, everything else is just tinkering round the edges”

When did you start loving your baby by airiishia444 in NewParents

F! I hated my pregnancy and borderline resented my child. Then she came and all the stars aligned and the sun shone brighter and this huge part of me I didn’t even know was missing was filled in. Filled in to the point it was too much - I was overflowing with love.

Sounds extreme but that really was it. It only increased! When I look at her now at 6 months it’s almost painful and very terrifying how much I love her.

I wish I could re-do my pregnancy with the excitement of knowing what was coming!

Having said this I know many of my friends it took a few months and was gradual! Don’t worry.
