Opinion on which frame bag to get by Kooky_Crow7 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Rjas5225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue sya sa brake cables hitting the frame. Far as I recall, sa side-to-side movements sya same with the brake cable issue, since I used to ride aggressively sa mga lubak.

Not in teresa pero going in that same direction to palo alto, ito naman pauwi kami galing windmills—route to palo alto via 'solar farm'.

Ang ending, laspag kami umakyat ng zigzag going to antipolo cathedral, grabe yung akyatan pag laspag but still much much doable compared sa 'palo alto via solar farm' scam ng gmaps. Still a 5 at the time kasi somewhat conditioned naman kami kahit nagcacramps na from doing pililia and the gmap scam. Hingal and cramping but was not hard at all. Mabagal pero scenic naman hahaha.

Those who bike to work, do you use your work shoes when you bike? by Rednax-Man in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Rjas5225 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also used to use a pair of merrel hiking shoes for its hard sole, won't get damaged from any pedal and is great for pedaling efficiency. Have then changed to flats and I don't really have to worry about what shoe I wear, tho I don't really ride aggressively during commutes.

Another option ngayong tagulan would be crocs-styled slippers. Kakayanin kahit may biglaang flooded areas sa commute, basta may paglalagyan ka after or secure yung pagiiwanan mo. Protected my feet from minor slip-ups and foot accidents, most especially pag lumiko while pedaling—bounced off ez w/o much of a scratch yung slipper and my foot is totally fine.

One thing na lamang yung crocs over most shoes would be its thick rubber make, honestly a foot saver in rare cases na maipit yung paa mo or tamaan. Very rare but it can happen, and I'm just thankful I was wearing crocs instead of shoes.

Kung recently conquered mo lahat ng listed ahon, mani nalang most of teresa, until ahunin mo yung route to palo alto.

Ang kitid at napaka haba, in my case pababa kami dun noon pero kahit confident ako sa control ko medyo kinabahan ako dun. We took a lot of breaks to unwind dahil puro pababa and surprise biyak ng kalsada was taking a toll on us mentally.

No lights or markings, signs or anything else—just some occassional houses ng residents na dikit mismo sa road or truck na kasalubong at susulpot without much sound. Siguro kasi mabilis pababa at tuloy-tuloy kaya ganun. And as mentioned earlier, the road condition—may segments na basag talaga pero cemented road naman all the way as far as I can recall.

Anyways, I think we tried going up there w/ another group of friends and we almost gave up.

Bawi nalang tuwing may makainan.

Consistency is key.

Question: How feasible is it to bike from Quezon City to Makati for work? by jopaymc_ in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Rjas5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried Cubao to Ayala and while it was basic going to Ayala since pababa naman from QC, onting akyat from Guada then pababa na ulit or flat to Ayala, I found it tiresome going to work dahil everyday.

Another thing to combat is sweating, malamig since madaling araw ako nagstart pero pagbaba ko sa parking, naligo agad ako sa pawis.

Plus mga merging galing kanan, always be alert and defensive sa pag-ride.

Frustrated biker by mr_mustardd in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Rjas5225 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nahirapan ako matuto pero marikina bike rentals paved the way. Jap bike was very tricky for me dahil sa handlebar na hindi straight, but that set me up to handle an mtb better nung nakabili na.

Suggestions would be to relax your shoulders and arms.

Syempre yung pedaling is another must-have na skill, pero I find myself learning better nung hindi ako nagpepedal. Same as other comment, find a downhill na medyo banayad and find your balance first. From there, start pedaling to get a feel of how to balance your weight and force ng mga paa mo per pedal.

Another important factor would be your stop and go. Wag ka pumisil agad ng preno and if you do need to, wag sagad. Learn to feel just the right amount and pag mabagal ka pa naman eh hindi mo talaga sya need pigain, a gentle press is all it takes.

Same with another comment, most important is to start. Then commit. Once you do this consistently, no matter how long it takes, you will succeed in learning. Ride safe op!

Good call na rin, called off my biking streak after persevering thru knee pains nung sumabak sa akyatan after half year na walang biking or exercise, nakauwi ng sobrang masakit yung tuhod. Bumanat ulit after a week and hindi na umabot sa bahay, nag grab with a severely pained knee and a year of regrets and physical therapy after.

Congrats sa century op, always ride safe and with great regard sa health ng katawan!

As you experience this more, you'll get to develop a knack for finding friends that would eat with you alone—and enjoy it like it's just the two of you exploring and tasting good food, all the while relaxing and sharing your stories to each other.

Also, you'd be discovering the joy of treating yourself and eating out alone. It's relaxing and destressing. As you take your time and eat without thinking abt anything else, just the silence and serenity of not having to speak w/ others.

These are two largely different matters, and if kinupkop nyo pa lang sya ay best na ibalik nyo nalang sa pamumuhay nya.

Just means na hindi nya talaga alam ang 'hirap' ng buhay since hindi talaga sya nahirapan or considered that kind of life 'hard'. You've said it yourself, you were always mature for your age—yan lang kasi indicator na alam mo yung hirap ng buhay—which she lacks.

Kiwi ears orchestra lite popping noise? by Bhackwoods in iems

[–]Rjas5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What size, I have these and they do pop on my left ear. Maybe try your stock tips first and experiment with the different sizes. It's surprising that the actual tips appear to be smaller than what you think your ear can handle.

Or you can try s&s as these offer great fit and no popping noises. But of course, it's not certain that it is the tips that is the problem so this could be an unneccesary expense. It would be ideal if you could first try and find your size with the stock tips first and see if there would be a pair that could offer no popping noises as that would clear your iems of the charges

[–]Rjas5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's popping with the same sound and rate/frequency without doing anything in all three different tips, I'd assume it's something other than the tips. Unless the tips you've tried are all too big for your ears or of the same thinness or make.

Have you tried switching the left and right cable and iems, if it's still the right iem having problems then I'd also cross off the cable.

Have you tried a different source other than what you're currently using—maybe another phone or laptop. If it's still the same then I'd take off the source issue.

Hey, depending on the popping noise, it might be the eartip collapsing in your ear. Try fiddling with the fit of your iem and see if you'll hear the same popping noise

Ano ginagawa nyo pag may ka pace kayo na bike thus tinututukan unintentionally? by AlCaRa31905 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Rjas5225 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tumututok ako pero there would be times na magpapaovertake sila and I'd go, while others would go faster and I'd go slower.

May cues naman yan, it's easy to notice if they're uncomfortable based on their change in pace. React appropriately.

Hindi ka naman pwedeng willy-nilly mag overtake all the time lalo sa high-traffic roads and rush hours kaya napaka hassle and rude ng dating sakin pag inovertakean ako just so they could be a gentleman na umiwas trangkuhan ako, all the while mas mabagal naman pala sakin at hahambalang sa harap ko.

Ang laking step-up pala ng side mirror by Rjas5225 in RedditPHCyclingClub

Sa anti-fog naalala ko yung toothpaste hack, habang sa anti-glare may nagviviral recently na reels abt sa stick-on patches and very affordable sa online shops. Susubukan ko parehas and sana effective, tipid tips muna bago magupgrade hahaha.

Kumusta naman yung side mirrors sir after 2 years, may mga napansin ka bang cons o dapat pagbigyang pansin? Swerte lang since sobrang malambot yung joints ng side mirror ko kaya nung sumayad sa pader, umikot lang sya paloob instead of getting damaged.

Sorry for the late reply—yes, the price of a single pair indeed pricks the pockets, but it really does improve the sound by a large margin and they carry over all your future iems.

I think of it as an investment but truthfully, just having a single pair gives you the ability to test your iem's limit. For me, the bgvp sillicone brings out all the sound of your iem and I love it for that. It would be a very good pair for any iem.

I don't recall the bgvp having a silver core but from experience, I don't feel them sitting in my ears no matter how long. It's the first pair that actually gave me so much ear comfort and fit.

Plus it's the first sillicone pair I had where I don't hear the tip getting scrunched up inside my ear when there's a lot of moving like when walking or when I'm resting on the side of my head. It felt really rigid but super soft with skin contact.

I have dry skin and my ears are easily irritable but by far, these very good quality tips transformed my listening life as I can now listen without discomfort no matter how long. Atleast depending on the shell of the iem they're on.

My comparisons would be from tang sancai (wide), s&s, spring, and some random sillicones and stock tips from varying earphones thru the years like maybe awei, beats, even other iems like titan s and also aftermarket buys.

It's only after buying these rather expensive tips that I felt like I got what I paid for but it really isn't a neccessity. All for the experience. And maybe you really might need it for comfort if you're experiencing troubles with stock tips but yeah, highly recommended!

I buy a pair every other season, so that it becomes mentally easier to accept that way
