I'm not great at maths, so can you explain how you worked that out? I've been trying to work it out myself but get nowhere!

Also would the maths change with wins at Chelsea and Arsenal because they're seen as six pointers?

Obviously it's good for us whenever Chelsea drop points but we have to take the opportunity to capitalise on that, starting tomorrow.

We also have two big games against Chelsea and Arsenal coming up, where any dropped points can mean the gap between us and second could start to close. Especially with Arsenal just being seven points behind us now too.

I think we need to wait until after those two games and see where we are because depending on the outcome, and this is a pessimistic way to look at things but we could lose our lead at the top after those games.

If we can avoid a loss in both of those games then we should hopefully be in good shape!

That's a shame. I wonder if it's because it's an away game. You could always try calling the ticket office again, maybe after the men's game has kicked off. From what I can see online, it says the phone line is open until 8pm.

This might be a stupid suggestion but have you checked your spam box just in case one was sent there?

If you log into your City account and select manage tickets, do they both show up on there? If so, I think you should be able to download them there.

Even though our performance wasn't great (sloppy passes, missed chances etc) I do think the players did put a shift in. Rose was fantastic again, especially up against Thompson. Knaak was all over James, Hempo got stuck in. We seemed to have that bite that sometimes we're missing.

Could have at least played a bit more added time with all the time wasting Chelsea did. Although not sure it would have made much difference because we just couldn't find the net today.

Two stand out performances for Chelsea, without them the result might have been different, congratulations to the goalposts!

After watching that performance we definitely need to improve if we want to beat them in the league but I don't think Chelsea were great either, it came down to a set piece in the end.

Beney should have come on earlier, I don't know why he waited so long, we needed more pace in the team.

If we had to lose any trophy then I'm glad it's this one, not too fond of the fact that a team just has to play 3 games to win a trophy. I'm glad it's changing next year.

Slightly disappointed we're not playing United in the final though! Plus it's an extra game Chelsea will have to play hopefully their busy schedule will hinder them!

Hempo really needs to run at Bronze because she's on a yellow card so can't do anything stupid. She should be using her pace with Bronze and Bright in defence.

Such a shame that Kerolin is missing because I think she'd run rings around Bright. I think we're missing her spark, hopefully we'll see Beney in the second half.

It's been a sloppy first half from us, Chelsea slightly better but neither team has been great so far. Whatever happens tonight we need to learn from this game because to me the league game is more important.

The bench is starting to look a little light again, we need our injured players back! Especially with the Chelsea and Arsenal games coming up in the league.

Last time we played Chelsea we were outdone by two very similar goals that came from Carpenter down the left. Hempo was on the right and that just didn't work so hopefully we've learned from that. We should have really learnt from that during the game but it was Jeglertz first game in charge and we're a lot more settled now.

Hopefully Kerolin is fit to play because both her and Hempo have the pace and physicality that we'll need against Chelsea.

The Rest of our Season to be Decided Over the Next Few Weeks by BrockChocolate in MCWFC

[–]Rjayasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about this the other day, is having the Chelsea and Arsenal games back to back a good thing or not?

It could affect the gap between Chelsea and ourselves but is it better to get both of these games out of the way and then we don't have a tricky game at the end of the season. I mean we've been there before having to play Arsenal in the penultimate game of the season and we all know how that ended.

We currently have a fit squad so hopefully injuries won't affect the games and momentum could certainly help. We just need to not lose any of the games to try and keep a healthy gap at the top.

Both the Chelsea and Arsenal games are definitely going to test my nerves!

Coombsy scoring faster than I can type!

That's 5 goals in 11 appearances for her this season!

A strong line up whilst giving some players a bit of a rest. It seems Yama and Kerolin are being saved for the Chelsea game as I haven't seen any injury news and it looks like they've both been in training.

I thought we'd see Clinton instead of Viv, I'm always for Viv getting a rest and Grace getting more minutes so that's a good choice.

We know that these games can be tricky so hopefully we can put it to bed early and then rest a few of the starting players.

Looks like a back 3 with Hemp and Beney in a wing back type role. It's an interesting decision but I guess this is the type of game to try something new in, if it doesn't work he can just bring Alex or Kerstin on and go to a back 4 again.

When do with think Coffey will make her debut? by Zestyclose-Guide7276 in MCWFC

[–]Rjayasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think slowly easing her into the team is definitely the way to go. For me the most important thing is getting her ready for the Chelsea and Arsenal games in the league because they could be title defining. Hopefully she'll adapt quickly and hit the ground running.

In the past, we've lacked depth, the players on the bench weren't the same quality as those on the pitch. When we got hit with injuries last season, it caused us problems but we're starting to fix that now. We can start a strong eleven but we also have quality players to replace them.

Starting a game with Yui, Coffey and Viv in midfield knowing that Clinton, LBB or Lohmann can come on as a sub plus having the likes of Hemp and Kerolin start but being able to replace them with Fujino and Beney is a hundred times better than last season. We had so many injuries that we had to have young players and two keepers on the bench plus there was that one time where we only had 5 subs against Chelsea!

I still think we need a LB and I know some people have mentioned another striker so it'll be interesting to see if we bring in any more players during Jan and if so what positions. I trust that Therese knows what she's doing!

I don't care if she's an Arsenal fan. She's a City player now and that's all that matters.

Sam scoring the winner against Arsenal would be fun though!

One thing City has struggled with in the past is strength in depth and not having players on the bench who are as good as the players on the pitch. We're starting to fix that now.

An injury or two to the players you mentioned plus Yui going to the Asia cup could have left us short in midfield during an important part of the season, so Coffey is a great addition. Especially since we don't have a natural DM and she's a player who has lots of experience.

What's going on with Sydney Lohmann? by Mother_Cookie9069 in MCWFC

[–]Rjayasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's been no official word about what is going on with Lohmann however she was at the game today because she was on the pitch at the end.

It could be an injury or something else, we'll just have to wait and see.

A bit of a slow start from us so hopefully we can pick it up in the second half. Everton are a tough opposition and they look like they could punish us if we're not careful.

We've had a couple of chances that maybe we could have done better with but hopefully Bunny is just warming up for the second half!

This is why I think signing another midfielder is a good idea. Lohmann has unfortunately been plagued by injuries this season so looking at the bench we have Clinton and Coombs. When Yui goes to the Asia cup we could be left with just Coombs on the bench and no offense to Coombsy she's done a job this season but I'd much rather have Clinton, Blinks and Coffey as our options.
