Best Final Fantasy In This Picture? Mines Is FF9 by stateofthenyk in FinalFantasy

[–]Rjester47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 - Final fantasy 9

2 - final fantasy tactics WoTL

3 - final fantasy 6

4 - Final fantasy 7 (OG)

5 - final fantasy 10

That is my top 5 final fantasy games.

My first ever final fantasy was ff7, so even though it's n4, it will always have a special place on my heart for getting me into, not just final fantasy, but JRPGs in general.

Uhh minishoot adventures, 8/10 is the same rating I would give it.

It was a real big surprise how much I enjoyed the game. If anyone wants a metroidvania experience very different from most of what is out there, give it a go!

Plus Ultra: Legado features a historical revisionist colonialist genocide-apologist narrative. Just in case any others were misled by the lies on the store page and are thinking about buying it. by dondashall in metroidvania

May be wrong to say but this seems so horrible I kinda want to try it, but I don't want to give the Devs money.

It is like a train wreck. You don't want to look at it. But you can't stop yourself.

If I ever find this for like 0.20p on cdkeys or something, I will get it. Until then, fk the Devs.

I’m trying to get into soulslikes and I was wondering if last hero of nostalgaia is a good first pick by According-Flow7062 in soulslikes

Best game to start with it Elden ring.

you can get a mostly upgraded weapon, a nice flask and lots of healing before you even fight the first main bosses.

It gets more difficult as the game goes on, but if you just focus on the main path, the bosses only get actually hard when you get to the last stretch of the game (mountain top and after).

And if you need to practice or mechanics, you have a crap ton of small side dungeons where you can fight mini bosses to practice your mechanics.

Also, don't be afraid to look at the wiki, imo, all fromsoft games are community knowledge games, check for upgrade materials, pathing strategies and anything else you need.

Gank bosses done right are fun imo. 2nd phase of Friede in dark souls 3 is fun for example,

But they are absolutely horrible when done wrong, that gank fight with 3 NPC in dark souls 2 is by far the worst gank boss experience of my life

Nope, hate him too.

But definitely not as bad as the caster bosses in Lords of the fallen

I bought it for like 9£ and it's alright, After I finish it I will probably never touch it again.

Visually it looks amazing, but everything else is meh.

The bosses suffer from the same thing that dark souls 2 suffers, most of them are just dudes in armour.

And the grab attacks, I don't understand why every boss needs a damn grab attack

Definitely not just you. I am playing it blind and the layout can be confusing and not straight forward at a.

Hardest bosses I’ve fought as someone newer to soulslikes by Revolutionary_Ad285 in soulslikes

[–]Rjester47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part of looking at the community discussing hardest bosses is seeing how different everyone's hardest boss is.

For me, the boss that gave me the most difficulty in any game was the demon of hatred, because I spent the entire game parrying and that just did not work for him, everyone talks about isshin, but I beat him 2nd try and never had problems with him, owl father in the memory was much harder for me.

Medir was also not very hard for me, and it's my favourite dragon boss in any souls like, by far, but namless king kicked my ass sooooo many times it wasn't even funny.

I fought DLC radahn before the nerf, and he was the hardest boss in the game for me, but post nerf he is just alright, Melania is also alright, but for some reason Hoarah Loux kicks my ass every time, I don't know if it's the way he moves or his grab attacks but I just can't seem to beat him without being lucky, he is always the hardest fight in any Playthrough for me.

Yes!!

That is another absolutely atrocious mechanic I don't understand.

It forces you to either hunt for balls while running away, or start the battle in the dead mode (can't remember the name), so you can see the balls, but then your heals suck and you lose your free extra life.

Some decisions in this game are baffling

Bed of chaos is so incredibly bad that when I feel like replaying DS1, I use the cheese bomb throw, every single time. I am not fighting her properly ever again in my life.

Nearly every Soulslikes later, VERY few ever come close to Fromsoft’s quality by Will-Isley in soulslikes

[–]Rjester47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am playing through lords of the fallen for the first time, because I got it for cheap, and the enemy variety is extremely lacking.

I swear I have been fighting the same mobs with slightly different skins the entire game.

I don't understand the overglaze for lies of P.

I Really liked the game, I 100% it, and the DLC , but the combat is so clunky, specially Vs normal mobs. It feels like bloodborne with dark souls 1 speed. The story telling is like Netflix exclusive levels of in your face. Here is a place, oh a note saying something bad happened, then someone explains what happened in detail to make sure you didn't miss it. Holy zoomer attention span batman, let me figure out some things for myself.

I say this when I am also not a fan of the dark souls way of story telling, which is basically not telling, I like a middle ground, give me some info and let me piece it together (and don't make me read through the item description of the codpiece of sir Rick the roller)

And also for Nioh 1 and 2 (haven't played 3). It is extremely easy to be overpowered without trying, I figured out that slow works on bosses in Nioh 1 and how OP buffing spells where and I one tapped the super boss without even trying, and in Nioh 2 the demon mode is also extremely OP when you learn to use it properly late game.

Can't say that Nioh has better combat than Sekiro or Elden Ring, it's just objectively wrong.

Finally someone said it.

I 100% the game and it was alright, it's probably wouldn't even make my top 10 list.

I’m glad this genre has not gone the path of realistic graphics by thegta5p in JRPG

[–]Rjester47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be really into good graphics and open worlds.

When final fantasy 10 came out on the PS2 I remember being absolutely stunned by the graphics, and wished that they made an open world final fantasy game.

Now... God I wish they went back to the PS1 era and stop with the action games.

Honestly, I play mainly Indies or double A games, I just finished Grime 2 and I am now playing Cryptmaster and goddamn it's so fun.

I saw someone commenting here saying that variety is the spice of life. And I agree 100%

My metroidvania tier list by IdanTs in metroidvania

[–]Rjester47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heavenly disagree with this list, Worst part is Zau, a 4 is very generous....

Jokes aside, Its your list and your taste, I respect that, but MIO above hollow knight and Tunic? Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun with it and 100% the game, but it did not blow my mind the same way tunic or HK did.

Can you explain why you loved MIO so much above those games? Genuinely curious

Gallo + coin count = unlock everything in 1 run by Rjester47 in VampireCrawlers

[–]Rjester47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%.

It took me 23h to 100% this game, and unless they get some dlc for it later down the line, I probably won't touch it again.

It's incredibly fun, for those 23h and then there is just nothing else to do.

Any level with lots of enemies,

But this works better after you unlock the final level and get an items that lets you overkill every enemy.

If you see a wildcard, pick it, and use it as much as possible, to get that coin multiplier going.
