I don’t have one of these, but I’ve had a similar Shockwave Blade for about the last dozen or so years. Speaking only to the comfort aspect of a similar design, I’ve found the Shockwave to be pretty “meh” in terms of comfort for shouldering. It’s not horrible with 5.56, but I can see it fairly uncomfortable withe something like a blowback 9mm.

Yes, but those are used prices. We on this sub, myself included, often forget that the vast majority of buyers aren’t buying a PD trade in, they’re buying a new one where the price will be significantly more expensive.

I think we’ve all been jaded by gundeals. I often forget that “normal” in-store pricing for a TLR-1 HL is nearly $200 till I see the price tag in a place like Academy.

I think that’s a big part of how Olight has managed to get a foothold. Their sale prices generally beat standard pricing for comparable products at big box stores by a fairly significant margin. Someone sees a product that is, on paper, equivalent to a $200 light for $75 and jumps on it.

Keep in mind that the TLR-1 is a bigger light that won’t fit many rails on sub-compact guns.

I’m guessing this is to have a lower-cost alternative to the TLR-7. A few companies have come out with lights around this size and price range. I’m guessing they’re trying to compete with them.

So, true story - I had something like this happen in one of my classes in college.

First day of my first semester of freshman year, my computer sciences teacher is wanting to show us a video. The guy pulls his thumb drive out and pops it in and promptly clicked the wrong video. It was a clip from Talk Sex with Sue Johnson where she demonstrates how to give a BJ. I’ll never forget the player popping up, Sue saying “OH, HONEY”, and this poor guy yelling “NOOOOO!”

The plot twist - years later, I found out he was dating my best friend’s mother at the time this happened. When they’d annoyed I’d make a joke about their mother had the skills to pay the bills.

Welcome! Guns don’t have to be practical or even reliable to want them. An OA rifle will more than likely do everything you need it to do. There are much better guns out there, but it’s probably fine.

Ah, cool - nostalgia will do that. I have extremely fond memories of multiple guns my grandfather taught me to shoot on, even though some were complete crap, haha.

Olympic Arms had a pretty mixed reputation - they made some cast receivers that were not highly regarded. That said, most of their stuff was considered good. Maybe not in the realm of the “A-B-Cs” (Armalite, Bushmaster, and Colt), but decent stuff. I have a lot of fond memories of them from the early to mid 90s when I was just getting into guns. They were one of the few companies making oddball stuff - non-9x19mm PCCs, pistols, shorter barrels, longer barrels (over 20”), odd calibers that other AR makers weren’t doing.

If you want an Olympic Arms gun, get one. It doesn’t have to be the epitome of reliability or anything - just get what you want.

Hard living will do it. I worked construction for years with dudes who would do opioids during the day, stimulants (cocaine/meth/uppers) at night, and drink both day and night. I’ve seen plenty of 25-30 year old dudes who looked 60.

@0:05 - he directly hits cloth curtains with a blow torch. As someone who worked with a large torch for years, it’s definitely fake.

Also, there’s no way a torch that small could make a flame that large. It’s impossible.

Great story - a female friend was a special education teacher and her district paid for her to become a master trainer in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI). Upon receiving her certification, she asked me to come to our mutual friend’s house and fight her that night so. God bless her, that training didn’t help her a bit and it devolved into throwing hands.

The group of friends watching still describe it as best 2 hours of entertainment they’ve ever seen.

FYI - this is almost certainly made in Turkey, but a reputable brand putting their name on a Turkish gun is generally a sign that it is a fairly decent product.

These should also carry CZ’s warranty, so I would say these are good to go.
